Look into a scanner/programmer that will allow you to force the regen cycle. Then your trucks may not get screwed up so often. I'm sure there are some cheap scanner/programmers that will have that feature.

The problem is manual overide. People shut off regeneration when it asks causing most all of the issues. Passenger cars don't have that option so you should be fine.
Your biggest contributor to soot buildup is excessive idling.

So Greg, I spent last Thursday to Sunday at Summit Motorsports Park for the NHRA Summit Nationals as I have for the last 3 years. I was walking by the Chevrolet booth when I noticed something strange about the Colorado sitting there
No idea if it is for sale in the US as there was no dealer sticker on it, like there was the Corvette sitting there, or if it is just more hype, but it exists.

It exists. They are on the lots now.
I haven't bought one yet.

Just witnessed one in the wild. Loud rattly engine and squeaking brakes.
I wouldn't be very happy

It's exactly what I would expect from them. I'm amazed people buy GM.

Been debating finding a 7.3 before i move. Still on the fence, but i think i could benefit from a truck once I get a house.

Meh. Modded dirtymax in a truck that weighs half of what they're usually in.
I'm more surprised it fits.

Good read on the Colorado diesel.

The overall outlook is great. It's a damn solid truck when you take it off the pavement. It sounds like it wouldn't need many upgrades or changes to be a really formidable off road vehicle.
There's supposedly a ZR2 coming that'll be even more capable.

Looked one up out of curiosity....freaking 35k for one with 20k miles already. Warranty only goes to 36k.
Wow. I can buy a nice used 2500 for that.

I don't know why they're so crazy expensive. There's a super basic 4x4 work truck Colorado for sale at the dealer down the street. Cloth interior, extended cab (not crew cab) no nav, steel wheels....and it's $31k. I think it was the gas engine. I'm not sure.

If they made it semi affordable they would kill the market. Something that gets 30mpg highway and you could tow with. I mean come on!
Oh well, gusss we will have to wait to see what happens with them long term.

Trucks, in general, are just stupid expensive. Yes it was 24 years ago, but I remember my parents buying a brand new 92 Dakota extended cab that had 12 miles on it when we drove it off the lot for $12k. You can't even get a nice used truck for that price these days.

About in line with new vehicles. Yes it's expensive but everything is these days

I disagree. It's way more expensive for what it is.
