I'm probably spoiled from living west coast now. I'd pass, but then again I don't know what is normal anymore. Lol

Yeah I'd have to really get under it and look around. My black Miata was from NJ originally. It only spent like 2 years there but there was some annoying thing from the corrosion on it.

Agreed. I'm not sure I'll be able to buy a used car I actually care about now.

Being from Michigan, I would not worry about that rust at all. I would take care of it, but that is minor stuff. My Stealth has way more corrosion underneath from living it's life in the mid-west winters (before I got it, I stored in winter time).

Also, with the F150s, the thing that is most shocking to me is the rusted bolts on the leaf springs. The corrosion on the axles/hubs looks like it would've happened just from moisture without salt.

Is it terrible yet,no but that amount of oxidation is going to be hard to reverse.

There is an old adage: rust never sleeps.

Found a Tahoe premier in town, went and looked under it. It has way worse rust under it.

At least made me feel better as it really may just be normal.

Yeah it's pretty messed up

It's more than that. My axle on my F150 looks better after 7 years and 70k miles. As was mentioned once it starts its hard to stop even though it's just surface rust for now I'd be concerned about what will happen in the future.

Refinanced today 2.69 and put 7,400 down. Got our payment to 459.

I’m okay with all that.

Also, poor women doing our finances. Whenever people find out I’m a fireman they don’t care to tell me (and other fireman) about bad things that happened in their life.

She told me about 5 months ago her and her husband were riding and he was ahead of her and a truck blew a light and nailed him. How they had ways to talk to each other and he never said a word.

Of all the ways people can die, that’s not bad.

We are on our first real trip with the Tahoe. Did the first leg of it from our house to Nashville (well Yuma) TN as one of our good friends bought 50 acres and is getting a farm together on it.

First. Traveling with two kids is crazy.

Second. We try to keep one of the 3rd row seats up as we need to attend the 7 week old we are taking and we need more storage. I am thing roof rack luggage but open to suggestions.

Third, I bought one of those range extenders. It just turns off the cyl deactivation. Yes I know it doesn’t solve the problem but if it’s not having to open and close as much you would think it might not be as big of deal later. Anyways, 325 miles and got 22.8 mpg. This was going up a mountain pretty much so I expect way better going home. I am pretty happy with that.

Other than that. Still a odd hard shake after a bump in the front. Not as bad as when we got it but still enough that it’s not right. Gonna look into new tires after winter and if that doesn’t fix it, new shocks.

Get the rack that goes in the hitch on the back. Most can carry up to 500 lbs. and it is way easier to access than a roof rack.

Can you open the rear hatch? What do you do when you park overnight As those you can’t lock down can you? I also worry about the angle. Wrong angle with the avalanche and trailer hitch and I’m scraping the driveway.

I get those fears, but Aaron's point is loading roof boxes on a full size suv is a major pain without a ladder.
