Ever heard of a Dodge Raider Prospector? We saw one on the way down to the lake last weekend. 99% sure it was a 4 cylinder based on the grille. I can't find anything about them. I know Dodge had some other Prospector models around the same time, so maybe the guy just put the badge on the side.

Cant say i have ever heard of a Prospector Raider. I know it was a trim on the 80's Ram Domestic Trucks.

Did the badge look like this:

We passed him pretty quick, so I can't say for sure it was identical. But it looked very similar.

Yea, i bet he just robbed it off of one of those trucks. Nostalgic enough of a badge i guess.

Update:

Spent Saturday AM putting the timing belt back on as well as the rest of the front engine accessories that I wasn't able to get to last week. Filled her full of fresh oil and cranked her over.

No leaks! The boys were ecstatic so we immediately put Monti through her paces by climbing the hill/mountain close to us.

Yea, he's full on Mr. Construction lately. We also hit up a construction site in the Monti on the way up the hill. He geeks out over that stuff. LOL!

I got a little jelly over Hot August Nights week. This was all by itself in an adjacent parking lot to the show.

Apparently I was the only dummy who got a chub looking at it. :)

Took the Monti to the car show this weekend. Got there late, but it was funny to see this group of teenagers talking about it next to me. One of them was educating the others "hey, guys lets go over and check out that Montero over there. I saw it come in. What Montero? That one (way over) there. You don't see those at all". I just chuckled and waited for them to cross the 3 rows to get to it. Surprisingly they hung around it for a couple of minutes.

Earlier that morning I was trying to hunt down an issue I have been having with the idle. It idles way too high and I have a feeling its the FIAV not working properly. I grabbed another TB from the junk yard but it was a couple years newer. Not going to work. I decided to just go to town with some brake clean while my boy guarded the tools.

So the Monti has developed a tire wear issue due to me lifting the front via the torsion bars. My camber made it look like the truck had a permanent saddle sore as it drove. I finally had enough and scalped some spacers off a couple Monteros in the junk yard.

I should have looked up how to do it correctly, but by eye it looks a lot better. It also tracks a lot better down the road. :)

When we lifted my buddies Montero Sport back in he day he had to get spacers to fix the front camber after lifting by the torsion bars also. Think it’s pretty common to have to do that.

Hmmmm. The avalanche is lifted via torsion bars. Wonder if I need them. I got it aligned, they didn’t say anything.
