I need some wheels for this thing. What's available these days that fits a 2G VR4 that looks good and are light? Probably 18s.

I finally got the ethanol sensor working. For some reason I was getting like 3v at the MAF harness instead of 12v like I should. Must've messed something up in my conversion harness. For now, the ethanol sensor is tapped off my HKS DLI +12v, grounded to the firewall, and signal wire straight into the Infinity.
Took it for a test drive with 25% ethanol in the tank and it worked perfectly. I had set the boost control tables to add another 8 psi of boost to the target for 100% ethanol, so should've gotten 21 psi but still got 19. Turns out I accidentally didn't fill in the 100% TPS row of the table, so it didn't up the boost at all. Oh well. Next drive should be fun, but I have to burn the tank of gas and fill it right at the station to get E75 or whatever is in the pumps now up here.

Yeah. Burn that gas. What hp do you think your making at 19?

I ‘d say somewhere near 550 if I had to guess. Jesse rode with me in it when he was out here a few weeks ago and I said maybe high 400s and he just laughed and said “no, way more”. Lol. Still haven’t touched the timing yet.
It really loved the ethanol though.

I’m guessing I’m low 400’s at my 12psi and 16g’s. Maybe I’m just high 300’s. I do know I need to get someone to tune my shit.

We've done around 550 awhp at around 19 psi on a built engine with head/cam package and EVO3 16G kit. All on pump gas. They really start screaming in the mid 20 psi range.

Yup. I was at 540 awhp on the 14Bs tapped out around 22 psi and completely tuned on C16. This is about 18-19 psi with only fuel tuned, and add another .5 liter and pulled out a couple degrees of timing to start with. I'm sure I can pick up more with timing, but I prefer to throw more boost at it instead of more timing. No headwork, but do have 262 cams.

Heads and cams pick up big power. They are a great combo to be able to get to around 600 awhp on pump gas. I fight with myself on what I want to do. I've got a 3.6 liter with the FP 68HTA turbos. I'd love to keep pump gas for ease of use. And I've driven 600 awhp 3/S cars and they probably will be way more than I would want. But, something keeps pushing me towards flex fuel so I can run E85 and make over 700 awhp. And I don't have a good reason to go that route except to say I have 700 awhp

You start talking about flex fuel the big gain is torque as I understand it. And then you start really limiting the clutches as can use.

The worry with E85 and torque is more for the folks on turbos like DR-750 where they spool so low. Especially on stock ECUs, there's a lot of timing dialed in low to get that big torque peak out of the stock turbos, which isn't a great thing on a high boost turbo like a DR-750. I don't think that'd be as much a concern on 68HTA turbos which are slightly larger than my Evo3 16Gs. Spool is solid on those, but closer to 3500 for full spool, whereas DR-750s are closer to 2750-3000 from what I've seen.
For sure need a good clutch though - hits pretty hard on corn juice when the boost comes up. I've got a Pitroad-M triple carbon disc clutch which so far has been working well for me. We'll see if the ethanol puts the hurt on it when I get the boost up in the mid 20's.
Heads - yes. I would like to get some DR stage 3 heads made, but then I should also get the headlift fix while I'm in there. Maybe beehive springs, too. Would have to redegree my cams as well. That's a fair amount of downtime/work/cost to get it all done correctly. That's the only reason I haven't done it already.
If I could find some heads that are all ready to go (and not machined down a bunch, etc), that'd increase the chances of me doing it.

I corrected my boost table adder for ethanol content, and it went to 24 psi and hit my boost limiter. Was pulling awesome until then, but I think it fouled a plug as it misfires under boost over 15 now. Probably just one cylinder, but then the O2 feedback wants to peg that bank rich to compensate so it is worse than it normally would be. After everything is totally dialed in, I will limit how far O2 feedback can correct. I need to swap out plugs to switch back to coil-on-plug and sequential ignition anyways, so I guess that's just a way for the car to force my hand to do it sooner rather than later. Just need to put together a wiring harness for the rear three coils to the Infinity.
It made it through 1st and 2nd, and then started overboosting in 3rd - but man - those first two gears were killer! My car almost never spins tires, but it did from a rolling start in 1st gear. Super-fun!

Probably easier to spin on my car than most with the JDM final drive gearing. Surprised me though! Might have to set up gear-based boost control to limit in 1st a bit.

Got some new wheels for the Spyder. WedsSport SA-77Rs. No more stock 17 chromies.
Lots to do on the Spyder before spring. Transmission needs a new 4th gear synchro ring (think I broke the carbon one, may just put in a stock synchro sing I've not had any issues with 4th gear before). Complete the wiring for sequential ignition.

They are a hair over 20 pounds, and I think the stock wheels are supposed to be somewhere around 25 pounds?
The only bad thing is that they make my brakes look smaller. Might have to do something about that, but I really should just sell this car soon.

I can send you the file to use Viper front calipers and 350mm EvoX rotors...

I'll see how it all looks with all the wheels on with tires and such. Maybe after that I'll start thinking about brakes, or about selling the whole car. I probably don't need this thing in my garage anymore, and it is generally more pain in the ass than fun. Not looking forward to stripping down the transmission again. Thought it would be bulletproof this time around - nope!
