Back to no pics because even coop, who asked for them, didn’t respond. Engine is basically fully dressed and ready to drop in. There’s only a couple of heat shields I could really put on that wouldn’t cause me problems when installing it.

I also got a phone call from the place in Florida I bought the first set of heads from… they are giving me a refund because and I quote “those heads never should have left our shop.” WIN!

Went out at lunch and did some inspections on the car to make sure I was ready. Then put the heat shields. Current plan is to put the WRX in garage Sunday morning.

You've been in this thread for the last nearly 2 years telling me LS swap the WRX

Engine is as assembled as can be before being dropped into the car.

Today my dad and w neighbor helped me move the WRX from behind the trailer to the garage. We pulled the WRX to the down hill section of the driveway then let it roll down the driveway. Then we used a winch to pull it rear first onto the trailer. We used my dad's tractor to move the trailer with the WRX in front of the garage. We lifted up the tongue of the trailer using the bucket on tractor, so the WRX could just roll off. Then it was just some pushing the WRX back and forth to get it in the right position. I didn't get any pictures of the moving operation, but here's the final result.

That was the original "Oh no what have I done" thread lol. I got that fixed and running then sold it to my parents.

That makes way more sense now. I just figured you wanted a new thread. Lol.

I’m all for this build, and a wagon! Freak yeah.

Maybe you should LS swap it though?

Not sure how I didn't realize it was a wagon. That makes me give you thumbs up on this project.

It being a wagon was part of why I bought it in the first place. However, the wagon is like 3 inches narrower due to the fact Subaru didn't put the sedans flared fenders on it. They did this for tax purposes in Japan. It really limits the wheels that actually fit the car, the biggest that can fit is something like a 225 on 8" wide wheels, but a 7.5" wheel is better.

Umm...wtf I commented on those photos!

Score on getting those heads refunded. Well done.

Glad to see the WRX in the garage and getting the transplant. Somehow I feel that talking about putting a motor in a Subaru is just asking for ringland failure. Fingers crossed!

Sorry you didn't really reference them lol.

The EJ205 doesn't normally have a ring land problem, it's part of why I got this era WRX. The down side is the parts are rarer because only 02-05 used it.

Gotcha. Well i hope it all pans out for you. Nothing like having a project car sit...and sit....and...sit.
