Time to get FIT...Honda Style

Well i did it. Bought #11 car to park at the house. A 2015 Honda Fix...im mean Fit

Honestly i didn't think i would purchase this car this weekend, but somehow this deal came together. Car has some accident history and the last owner (#4) didnt know how to take care of it. That being said it was fithly inside and out. Young girl had a long white haired dog that lived in an all black car.

I've got a checklist of things to get to:

- Hard to start at times. Pretty sure its the starter with a dead spot on the armature.
- Sunroof wont close. Time to reprogram. Check
- Leaking coolant. Fix fitting. Check
- AC is weak. Test and fill as needed.
- Thoroughly clean car. check
- Missing passenger fender well
- Get backup Key fob and program
- Pull nail out of tire and patch. Check
- Front rotors are warped
- Service CVT
- Replace missing bolt in trans
- Replace destroyed front fog lights. Cracked glass full of water and rust.
- Paint correct the exterior gashes in paint.
- Pull dents in body.
- Fix TPMS
- Replace passenger mirror with correct one.
- Fix SRS dash light

Even drove her to work today. Little bit of road noise, but its a tight car.

nice. theyre great cars though not a fan of the CVT.

ive sold 3 people on them. 1st gen auto and 2 second gens. 1 ex/cvt and 1 black sport manual. 4-6 years later they still love them.

You can get 1st gen or 2nd gen with the manual. They are well built and im impressed with the handling right out of the box. Not the fastest though but what can you expect from 1.5 liters.

Good question. Been looking for an econobox that seat 4 comfortably and get great gas mileage. I've been wanting to do more Nor-Cal visits for work and fun with the family. This looks to achieve it and i got a stupid deal on it.

I'm just hoping the CVT likes climbing the sierras ok.

Didn't know you liked Fits. Yes, they appear to have a strong following. I'm starting to see why. I don't like CVT's either, but i thought i would give this one a chance. Appears Toyota and Honda are the only ones really having any success with them, so why not.

was seriously considering one to replace the swift but never pulled the trigger. sundirt filled that void in my life.

though in the coming years i may get one and actually dump the swift (parts are starting to get hard to find. not montero SR difficult but still hard). have to wait and see where i am in 30 months with the EV life.

There was a time i thought about getting a Swift or Metro as well. This does all that but with more creature comforts, safety and performance. If you can wing it I think you would really enjoy one. I wasn't planning on this one, as i don't like black cars, but the seller really wanted to move this thing. lol.

I'm thinking i should change the CVT oil. I have no idea when it was done last and its currently sitting at 192k miles. What's a good average lifespan or interval?

I sold my parents on one after test driving it for them way back in the day. They are now on their.. third I think? Can't remember. The amount of stuff my mom has managed to haul in it is ridiculous haha.

I can't drive it long distance though (nor can I any Honda) due to the seat absolutely killing my back but that has more to do with my weird body proportions hah. Great little cars.

Interesting how many of you guys have been recommending these cars to friends and family. And to think i was all alone. lol. I agree the seats are a little stiff right now. Ill have to take a long drive and see how i feel about them.

Waiting for Aaron to come in and do the math on the cost of vehicle, insurance, upkeep, and everything else on how this isn’t worth it.

I would do it but I make dumb vehicle decisions.
