I need a vehicle!

Post by DirtyRyda »

I'm currently shopping for a new (to me) vehicle. I really prefer driving a car over a crossover/SUV. However, I have to haul at least one small motorbike and likely two before long, plus all the necessary things (generator, tools, pop up canopy, camping stuff) for a race weekend. I have pre-approved financing through my credit union for $20 for a vehicle 2014 or newer with under 125k miles. What would you be looking at under these circumstances?

I like the new ford rangers myself. Know it’s not a cross over but would get good gas mileage and tow everything.

I think I would prefer a truck or a larger SUV over a crossover. There are some V6 F150s and Rams in my range of miles/price/year. Haven't really saw many rangers in that range, but I'll look. There are a lot of Colorados/Canyons, but I worked for a company that made the axle housings for them and wouldn't buy one.

If you're towing you should look at a truck (should find a gazillion RAM 1500s or F150s in that range). Buying a huge truck is also the cool thing to do around here these days.

Thanks! It should do everything I need and doesn't ride like a truck. I'm used to driving a small car that would hit the curb so I have to get used to being able to pull further into parking spots.

Yeah I'm glad my WRX has a set of lift springs on it so it clears the curb because sometimes I forget it isn't as long as my truck and pull too close to the curb

Very nice. :)

December is officially truck month on BAWC.

I did as well instead of the Lexus. One of my neighbors has one that he tows his older pontoon boat. So it doesn’t weigh as much as the newer stuff and has done it for years with no issue. I love a Honda though. I’m sure it will be good.
