Been thinking of going to SMIC. FMIC is cool and all, but mine is painted black so I never wanted it to show and I would love for the car to never worry about overheating. Yes with proper ducting bla bla bla.
Thoughts? Are you really gonna heat soak smic? Do I really need fmic?

The car got warm one time, and you're redesigning the cooling system.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Oohnoos SMICs are as big as you can fit in the stock locations. Combined they are not as big as a FMIC. Where are you worried about heat soaking, the track?

Think 3si or somewhere has the info on how actually smaller they are? Is it half? I really don’t know. Daily driving I feel like would heat soak them. When it’s 80/90 out already and you have smaller than FMIC trying to cool with stop and go traffic.aaronatstate wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 4:08 am Oohnoos SMICs are as big as you can fit in the stock locations. But I’ve never really read into how much less effective smic are as growing up it was always fmic.

It seems like you don't understand what heat soak is, and how you heat soak an intercooler.DCIV wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 2:57 pmThink 3si or somewhere has the info on how actually smaller they are? You're not going to heat soak an intercooler if you're not driving the car hard, i.e. if you're not in boost, you aren't heat soaking an intercooler.
