CAPS people..need a part number

Post by Terry »

For a FWD axle seal (think they're the same as the TT). Unable to find anything on 3si or google. Did find one for a DSM but i'm not positive it's the same.

You're talking about the ones in the transmission, right?

They're not the same as the ones on the turbo. I don't have CAPS at work. DSM seals should work, provided you get the ones that match your axle diameter.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Yeah..the ones in the actual transmission. They're the same on all years FWD right?

I needs these ASAP (hopefully to fix a leak before ecg) and the local dealer needs a VIN or part number. I should be able to get a vin off ebay and they can use that.

Nope, not the same for all years. They went to larger axles (and thus larger seals) at the end of 92.

Well I have a 92 transmission with the quaife (93+). What year should I get them for? They go into the case, right?

Hans...check your pms (want to make sure there isn't an issue).

The part number for the VIN I gave the dealership is different from the DSM part number. They have the DSM part number in the warehouse (which means I'll have it tomorrow). The VIN (for a 94 RT) part number is not which means it'll be a while.

Might need to get those from you Hans.

Just for the record. The part number is MD742053 (both sides are the same) for a 93+ non-turbo axle seal
