Did you trace the wire itself to check the condition of it to make sure it isn't grounding on anything else?

Your over flow is full or when you pop off the coolant cap, it's full?

AH... We should replace that connector as I feel that's the cause of your bad gas mileage.

Well, at least let me confirm your car is getting up to operating temp with the logger. Your thermostat was stuck pretty good in that housing. It might have gotten damaged when you took it out.
