Anyone ever have to use their factory jack? Everytime I do they suck. Not a large footprint, barely go high enough, and all around sketch.
Is there something that is portable but just better? I’ve had to use the one on the Tahoe 3 times now and it scares me everytime. I bet the one for the gmc wouldn’t even reach the truck if I had to use it.
Is there a better option than the home use floor Jack?

Re: Vehicle jack
I used to have a small AC Delco branded jack that came in a plastic carrying case. It was nice for light work. The cylinder eventually lost a seal and it wouldn't hold pressure any more. Something like that would be good to keep in the back or a truck or SUV
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Re: Vehicle jack
I did see a couple options like that and may actually do it. I also might put a 4x4 in the gmc to help pick its factory jack up higher.
But a smaller one in a box maybe nice as well. Wonder what ton I need.

Re: Vehicle jack
They arent great, but they get the job done. Could always put the floor jack in there if you want.

Re: Vehicle jack
I don't think I've ever used the factory jack 3 times total across all my cars. They're definitely designed to be as cheap and sketchy as possible but still get the job done. It really becomes a game of how much stuff do you want to cart around with you wherever you go. Carrying an aluminum floor jack sounds like a great idea until you listen to it rattling around in the cargo area all the time and then it just takes up space. I think the best bet is a smaller bottle jack you could maybe stuff into a compartment.
Re: Vehicle jack
I would like a bottle jack with a better base, wider or some thing. Most if they arnt perfectly flat get just as sketch.
