So….I’m not against them. Just would like a roll cage if I’m gonna do it. And if I’m gonna go that far….a CF roof would be bad ass as well. Not an overlay. Actual get a roof done out of CF. With a roll cage I’m cool with all that.

The wife kind of wants a roll cage in it anyways. So that might happen.

Kind of sad when I bought the hood I was poor and so I didn’t get CF, now you can’t find those hoods and I need one in CF.

It started as I hate my paint and I’m never gonna be able to justify paint. And now it’s just kind of fun.

I bet you could get a real nice paint job for what you've spent on carbon fiber so far.

Plus mix and matching panels that are unpainted carbon fiber and painted panels looks terrible IMO

So you’re saying the stuff they send it to me in isn’t good enough? The ceramic I put on them will not help? This is the first I’m hearing of an extra coating. Seen plenty of hoods peal or crack but they also get lots of engine heat and sunlight.

Raw carbon panels on cars that didn’t come with them looks terrible imo.

It’s never mattered what I did. It’s always been “why” to most and my explanation isn’t usually okay. I’ve never cared and did it anyways. I have to drive and live with the car. My paint sucks. I should have walked away from it when I first bought it as it was that bad but it was a vr4 and I was thrilled. I’ve gotten quotes over the years for paint. I’ve even tried painting. Last place I got a quote (which was before covid and prices going up) was 7k. I have less than 1700 in CF. And at least the cf is smooth so if I want to wrap it later I can. Even a wrap would look horrible over my paint as it wasn’t sanded down and made right before repainted and my buying it. I got the idea from the dude with the amazing blue stealth. I never knew his was a wrap till he showed him pealing it and it’s CF under. He owns a vinyl wrap shop so it’s no biggie. But it’s still back to, even a wrap over my paint would look like crap. So what do you do….spend way more than the car is worth for a correct paint job. Swap frames (which I almost did in one of dudes part outs as he’s in OH and he said 3500 bucks)? Or do you swap in some cf and have some fun? At least if I ever sell I can remove the cf and sell it. Can’t do that with a paint or wrap.

But I’m sure my thinking is flawed and I should go back in time and stop myself.
