Well I've owned this thing for about 5 years or so now, but have yet to run a full tank through it. I had the bright idea this weekend to start her up and get her ready for winter use. Why not?
I go out to start it and everything fires, but after some detecting, I get the fuel pump to engage, but no fuel comes out. That can only mean that the fuel pump is bad and i need to get access to it. Truck has 1/2 tank in it and I was just not in the mood. Its a fair amount of work to drop the tank and it just sucks. Luckily Mitsubishi put a drain bolt in the bottom, so you can drain it out.
So I sat there for a bit and contemplated my future. Pull the tank, or maybe pull the bed???
Pull the bed!
Drained tank... Look close and you can see some clumps in the bottom. Note this stuff stunk bad and burned your skin.
What it looked like when mixed with water...Just look at that lumpy crap!
The fuel hat
This thing is disgusting!

Yeah. Fuel doesn’t seem to last even 3 months anymore!

I've had a lot of vehicles sit for years, but this one takes the cake. Never lost a fuel pump. Im thinking bad fuel, or if you google ethanol damage then something similar appears to show up.

Yea, i see a decent amount of mopar guys going the old Mopar v8 route. Its nostalgic, but much less efficient that modern tech. I have much more appreciation for the 4g63 guys.

Little shot of my latest daily. I haven't driven this truck since buying it about 5 years ago. Come to find out it needed some attention. I cleaned up and resprayed the underside with enamel paint. Flushed the trans fluids as 2nd and 3rd would grind in the cold. All new Redline MT-85 fluids now. Its getting a lot better, so hopefully after a couple hot cycles its all gone.

I got tired real quick of the OEM wheel. Its all expanded foam now and its as flimsy as they get. Not to mention the horn didn't work. Well i found an Eagle Talon leather wheel and replaced it. Turns out the leather was shot, so i skinned it. Now its like a brand new wheel underneath.
This wheel is a big improvement. Its also a little smaller, so it doesn't feel like driving a bus.

I also had a little time to rebuild this cluster. This came from a truck that was in a head on crash. The rear spedo part was broken off and the plastic face was cracked as well. Just had to clean things up and swap out parts to make it work again.

I just realized the cluster might not seem like a big deal to most here, but they are rare with the tach and all 4 gauges.
Most all of them produced looked like this:

Oh yeah that’s much better!

I cant believe they didnt put the nicer cluster in more of them back then. I mean all of their cars like the Colt came with all the gauges. Why wouldn't you want a work truck to have the same?

They are pretty fun little trucks. Let me know if you want me to keep an eye out for one locally. They pop up every now and then.

Spent some time this past week working on the Ram. I have a bad vibration over 55mph and i think its due to the bad shocks and slight cupping caused by the improper camber. I put all new KYB shocks on, added some shims to bring the alignment more in spec, and rotated the tires.
Even spent some extra time polishing up the chrome. Yummy!
I think all that i have left to do now is dial in the alignment and fix an oil leak. I think the oil leak is coming from the front main seal, but Ill have to dive in some more.

Color wise I would have to agree. I like the 2 stage blue.
