This is not a vehicle so doesn't count against me.

I'm going to need a trailer for my 2nd job and toy hauling. Ideally would like to use the same trailer for everything but I'm going to assume that I'm going to need two.

Enclosed for gym stuff and open for cars/toys.

Any recommendations or where to start looking? I'm a trailer noob to be honest. Years of towing experience but been with work so never had to buy my own.

Just do what everyone else around here does. Find a uhaul and just take it.

I spent $750 on a tow dolly that i never need to license or insure. Paid itself off already.

These are just a couple of the many times I've used it to haul cars from CA to NV to ID. Would recommend.

Could be a choice. One of our toys might be a side by side eventually. That would need a flat bed I think. Subaru does too. Chevelle might be ok. Still need to figure out gym trailer.

I like my enclosed but wow have they gone up in price. I would find the smallest enclosed you could for what you need. The. You can get a nice car float for prob cheaper.

I'd probably just get an enclosed car trailer that will meet your needs for hauling the mythical Chevelle around. It will do everything else you want. Then if you move you won't have to worry about storage for 2 or more trailers. Something 8'x25' or so will do nicely for you. Buy once cry once.

Just drop the driveline and pull. Side by side might not be legal to do though.

Just not sure how I would get it into my driveway. Kind of narrow street and people like to park on it so no a lot of room to back it in from the street.

Same way I put my travel trailer behind my gate. 8ft wide trailer in a 11ish ft wide gate .

At least you don't have an impossible hill that your driveway is on!

How to know someone has never worked on a farm without them saying they have never worked on a farm - they think a 8ft trailer into an 11ish ft wide gate is a tight fit

Haha sorry couldn't help it. One of the things I am extremely glad I learned on the farm at an early age was backing the huge trailer up into the second story barn door. Was a very tight fit and you really learned how to use your mirrors etc in detail. With the largest trailer I think we had maybe 5 inches on each side clearance. I am sure Coop will agree with this with his large fire trucks - once you kind of have it down it becomes second nature and you stop worrying about the narrow space. A lot of it is done in the setup. We had to do almost an U turn while backing up because of the layout of the farm. Couldn't line it up straight with the ramp.

Keep thinking about this trailer. They are about $20k new. So not a bad deal. Just really not sure if I can get it into the driveway with my current set up. Might need to make some changes to the driveway before I can do it.

Fire trucks are so much easier than trailers. They don’t pivot. Also, we have fireman that have to spot us. Lol.

I have actually always wondered about that with those ginormous ladder trucks with like a trailing section that I have seen in NYC and stuff. They look like a total nightmare to drive - especially in a tight city!

It depends on what you are using to back up the trailer with. My truck has a relatively long wheelbase making it way harder to maneuver a trailer while backing. That being said I don't have a problem getting it through the gate on my first try but I do take my time to get the trailer where I want it on the side yard so it's still easy to open the door on the trailer and walk around the trailer. It's still nothing like putting my parents boat back into the garage.
