2016 autobahn with DSG. Ive honestly always hated the idea of these things. FWD, weak manual transmission, auto as the only real option if you want to mod it. Victoria made me drive one, and this is such a fun car. I really didnt want to like it, but i do. Picked this up from a porsche dealer today (so much eye candy, i was half chub the whole time)f. Quick enough, comortable enough, and gets over 30mpg. The gas savings alone covers more than half the payment lol.

That's cool. I wish they still offered the 3 door.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Im not lying when I said I hated these for the longest time. Vw owners are worse than Subaru owners, that plus the fact its fwd then I test drove it and I was instantly sold. It wasnt a let me think about it it was a let me find a dsg to test drive and see which I like more

I love hearing you changed your mind (in a good way) after driving it. I hate it when I love the look of a car, but dislike driving it.
Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer
Is the level of bullshit you have to go through to change things in a direction you want, less than than or equal than the level of current bullshit?

Drive one on a fun road it's the only way. I haven't driven anything else that's as much fun one second, and the next you're comfortable cruising the highway for a while. There's a reason nearly every car magazine driver is smitten with them.
I'll admit, curvy back roads = very nice. Easily best curvy road car I've personally driven. Dsg was a lot of fun. Did a few longer drives. Good too. But I eventually got tired of the fwd and reliability issues.
i dont think the golf r or the focus rs are worth the price they command. Id much rather get something more high end used than either one of those. This car hits a pretty cool sweet spot for price/fun/economy

I think the RS is worth it over the ST, based on having owned both. GTi and R maybe closer to each other, but the RS was a marked step up over the ST. Now I got mine for $6k off MSRP (it was on the lot for a year!). So that also made it closer in cost as well. But even if I had paid the additional $6k it would've been worth it IMO.
not hot hatch based on an economy car is worth 40-50k lol. Even driving one wont convince me of that. mid-low 30s MAYBE but even then, that price on the used market opens up so much more cool shit.

Says the guy who owns an STi...which is a performance vehicle based on an economy car...
Oh and FYI, RS's were mid 30s for the bare bones option ones when they were new. Max for 2017 model year was like $45k (with winter tire package), and I paid $37k for mine (which had every option but the Cup2 tires and winter tire package)
