I put a deposit down in a closed trailer. Hope to go get it Wednesday. It’s about 4 hours away.

It’s 16’ long. The model A is 13.5.

It’s got two 3 #3500 axels for a 7,000lb rating
The model A is 2,200lbs also the trailer weighs 1500.

It also has torsion suspension. So suppose to ride much better.

It’s got a ladder in the front and roof rack. And it’s also from GA and spent its life in FL. So it’s clean. It’s got new tires, and brakes on all 4 tires.

The only thing I don’t like is that it’s got barn doors instead of tailgate. Also it’s not a true car hauler. So I need to put down wood to spread out the weight of the car. The owner had two other car haulers that he uses for cars so when I told him what I needed it for he deff thought it would be fine. Also odd the tongue it has the normal two support that to at and angle out but also one that goes strait back. He talked about how strong it is. A wells cargo. He priced it too low at 4k and said he has 47 messages in the morning but I’m the only one who FaceTimed him and he knew I was real.

I also like how it had a title and not bill of sale.

I need to order a brake controller and spare tire. Then I need to outfit it with tons of tie downs so I can strap the model a down a lot. I do worry about loading it through the doors as it will be tight but I will take off the wheels if I have to.

Real goal is to use it, then sell it for prob more and get a regular car hauler.

Your Tahoe and probably your Avalanche should have pigtails for it. Even our Hummer is pre wired for one.

On the H3 they're taped to the main harness under the dash. You could see the blunt cut ends. So they're not really hidden, but they're not exactly obvious either.

This suggests there may be a plug and play socket on the connector block under the dash? Get under there with a flashlight and check it out.

Look for an empty 4 pin socket instead of this white connector.

Yeah, all the Avalanches should have a spot on the top row of the junction box that a GM brake controller pigtail plugs into.

Ordered everything. Picking up trailer Wednesday morning. Everything says arriving Tuesday late :suspense:

Well. Still need a bigger trailer ball. And actually when I go to pick up the model A I want a receiver I can change the height on the trailer with. Where I will load it is nice and flat, but his driveway does have one sharp incline before it levels out. Not horrible but enough if you had a trailer you would watch it.

If all else fails I will just call a tow truck to basically load it. I will need to spin the model A around to get the heavier engine side to the front of the trailer.

You shouldn't need the trailer brakes to be functional just to bring it home empty, right? It's pretty light by itself.

Correct. But be a good time to try and learn it some. But it’s not gonna stop me from bringing it home.

Best hitch i have ever owned. Costs a little more than average, but the flexibility, and ability to check your tongue weight on the fly is priceless.

Be sure to use a locking pin, but also get a hitch tightener. These things are game changers. No more clunking receivers, or jarring maneuvers/stops.

I like that idea. Might look into one without a drop though for the subaru. We plan on eventually towing a smaller camper behind it.

They have all different sizes to choose from. I would recommend and adjustable one still as you can lift and lower the mounting for several reasons. 1) proper hitch height vs. trailer height. 2) Ability to adjust hitch load dependent upon angle.
