17 years...will she sell it?

This guy:

Is looking for:
...a 2G VR4. Clean title, clean car, blue preferred. The less mods the better. Less miles the better. CLEAN is the key word. Message me with pictures of the interior exterior hatch engine, mods, vin, maintenance etc, as well as location, and asking price. Clean title cars only.

Really prefer blue because well it's the only color I buy.
I posted in the thread I was thinking about selling mine.
Others posted as well. Some cleaner, some not blue, some not clean.

He said he wanted 'clean' and didn't want a repaint, but when I told him that he probably wouldn't be interested in mine with chipped/faded paint on the hood, he said he 'could fix it'.

I guess he's serious. He continued to message me...

So after consulting with a few of my 3S friends. We settled on 14k to offer him. He's still interested. I need to clean up the car and get him detailed pics.

:o hnoes:

Part of me thought I'd 'never' sell this car. But it is a lot of maintenance (for Jeff) and the lack of 3S events and community and driving a better car now...has my enthusiasm waning over the years. It's always dirty and doesn't have it's own garage spot. It's been outside for too long...

So it's reasonable to give up a car you're sentimental about, when you look at it logically, right? :(

100% reasonable to sell. The market is good, the support for the platform is dwindling, like you get can't get 1G turbo oil pumps anymore, among other stuff.

I made the decision last year to invest some more money in mine and keep it, but Stealths don't demand as much money as 3000GTs, and I knew if I updated the interior, did the wheels, upgraded to a CarPlay stereo, put bigger turbos and injectors (still to be done), and rebuild the trans (also still to be done), I would be OK with driving it for a good bit longer. Basically until it is mechanically totaled for something at that point.

If you have the option to sell for decent money - sell. You don't enjoy it, you don't drive it.. get what you can out of it, get something you really enjoy (might already have it with the SQ5) and keep the good times as good memories.

Yeah, and the vast majority of "old school" 3SI folks have longed moved on from the 3S onto newer and better vehicles. There are a few of us holdouts, but they are getting to be fewer and fewer for sure.

Sell.

We had sentimental value in the red xj. Still don't regret selling it.

I’m still holding out but I get it. At some point they become more of a care taking car and drivable.

If you've got a buyer and are happy with the offer, I'd sell. For all the reasons already mentioned.

I'll be trying to sell my Spyder this spring/summer. Just need to finish putting a few things back together under the hood and I'll start advertising it.

Take a tour.

The good, the bad, the ugly.

I've seen way worse with people asking similar prices. Besides if he's willing to pay more than you think it's worth that's his problem (as long as the cashier's check is real).

I'm with everyone else. You don't drive it, parts are getting harder to find, you have a potential solid offer. I'd sell.

He's still interested. Talking to his paint guy, and detail guy.

Asked where the nearest airport is...

Also asked if I was firm on price. I said it was negotiable. :eh:

I talked to Vira about this, her and I have the same feelings about our vehicle but for different reasons.

Its crazy how much you can become attached to a vehicle.

Vira, do what makes you happy....look at your life and if your life would be better without it...sell.

Well, paint guy said a full respray would be best. :eh:

I told him I thought it was probably too rough of an example for him:
No it's not actually. I'd buy it but by the time I'm done with everything I'd be into it for more then what I can sell it for.

Besides the paint stuff it's perfect.

I'll keep yours in mind. Otherwise I'm just going to order the 2023 Nissan Z
So, oh well. But this is making me really think about selling it, before it gets any worse. I want to get the hood resprayed, and the dents out. but then put it back on the market. With as rare as Danube blue second gen VR4s are, I'm sure I can still get a good price.

Get the roof re sprayed, put on a CF hood, and sell to a 20 something year old.

I sold my 3k in 2017 and got a Murano that Lori and I both use.(Her Camaro hides in the garage in the winter.) I got Stealth back on the road last summer. Its got some issues but I'll work thought them. Working from home I don't need a daily driver so right now I plan to keep it as long as I can.
