Been thinking more and more about a vehicle lift. Even something like Jeff’s got but I want higher. I have the over head space but I would kind of like them portable, if that’s even possible.

I find myself working from both my garages upstairs and down. So it would be really nice that if I had a project upstairs that I could take the system up there.

Is this just me being coop or are there options out there that would work?

Costco used to sell a shorty 2 post lift was supposed to be "portable" because it bolts into the concrete instead of having studs coming up.

Eh. Even bolting if in would make it not very portable. I really like how easy Jeff’s seems but I just want it to go up higher.

Yeah. Looks like I would have to drill but it doesn’t look like anchors, what would you call that?

Those threaded inserts get set into the concrete and they stay there. When you want to use the lift you put the posts into place and bolt them down. When you are tyou unbolt and wheel them away :d ontknow:

Whenever I move I want to make sure I have a shop big enough to fit my cars and a full lift in. I hate crawling around on the ground.

Yeah, I have a v1 MaxJax. It is still working well. If you want to be able to use it in two locations, you can get an extra set of anchors. Gets the car high enough to roll under with one of those short creeper seats or whatever they call them. The new one is essentially the same, but has 7 automatic locking positions instead of 2 manual locking positions.

Yeah I'd really like to get one myself, but I'm not sure how it'd work out in the 3rd car spot of my tandem side of my garage.

So if I didn’t wanna deal with anchors my only other option is the thing Jeff has?

Looks like a nice middle ground between the QuickJack and a full 2 post lift.

Need to watch some YouTube videos, I am curious how the lock out works on that. Need to make sure it’s safe.

Not sure if balance is critical on a scissor lift or not. Like if you remove an engine and trans, is that going to possibly allow it to tip?

It would almost have to come into play.

I'm personally not a fan of scissor jacks I just feel like they'd be in the way for a lot of what I'd want a lift for.
