So eventually I want a trailer. I want the smallest feasible one for the vr4 as it’s probably going to mostly tow the lawn mower. For those of you that have a trailer what do I want to look for? Dual axel? Length? Width?

The biggest thing you'll deal with is the door of the VR-4 hitting the trailer wheel covers. The only way I can get out of the Miata when I load it on the trailer is to put the top down and jump over the back.

You're probably looking at at least a 17' trailer but I'd go longer with a dove tail to make loading easier.

Get a deck over and you don't have to worry about getting in and out. We've got a 20' deck over that I haul for work. I've never hauled a car on it but it would definitely do the job. The one we have is rated at 4500 max but I've had nearly 7000 on it.

You want to be able to center the weight over the axles, so normally it will be a bit longer than the car.

An 18 foot trailer would give you about a foot and a half on each end of centered on the trailer, 18 is usually the standard from what I’ve seen.

This is coop. He needs a 30' enclosed trailer with built in shop space.

I have been thinking about a smaller enclosed to also store the mower. But I can’t put a trailer around my house. Heck, I have to make a two point turn just for a vehicle to make it around.

So no, I’m looking for minimal with what I need in this case. I will not be going right out and buying it, just want to know when I see them.

What about weight. I need to keep that in mind, not an all aluminum one but how much more weight Are the wood floors vs metal floors vs open middle (even thought that wouldn’t haul the mower.

There is that great video of a model vehicle on a small treadmill and it towing and what happens with weight towards the front and rear. Really makes you think.

You'll need a 40' ramp to get on that thing in a car.

More accurately you typically need 8-12% of total trailer weight as your tongue weight.

I thought about this too and bought a car dolly instead. I don’t have to license it. It’s way less. I don’t use it nearly as often as I thought and it’s easy to tuck away/move around. Yea you will have to drop the driveline but it’s not that bad for how infrequently you really use it.

Mine is plumbed with led lights and electric brakes as well. Tow’s much better than a heavy car trailer too. Almost can’t tell it’s there
