Is there a way to reseal it?

Put it in the oven for a while at 150*. The water will evaporate and escape by whatever means it entered. A couple hundred degrees isn't enough to melt the plastic (though it may soften it until you let it cool). That's the method I used to soften the silicone and open a pair of DSM headlights that I cleaned up.

What did you use to re seal it?

With the Talon lights, I just used some black silicone.

I only opened them up because they were dirty and discolored inside. For your problem, I'd just heat them and let the water burn off. Opening the corner lens on an R/T looks risky.

The corner lense (blinker) is beautiful.

I think I might just reheat it though. Maybe it will seal itself again.

I meant the whole corner assembly on an R/T. The whole black piece that has the turn signal and the snake eye. Looks like it'd be a risky pain in the ass.

2nd on just heating it.


when i finally moved my 97 had decent condensation in the lights. it burned off after a few days from the headlight heat. hasnt returned yet. put the corner assy in the oven on very low heat and let it bake. dont bother opening it.

I had a problem with one of my turn signals getting filled with water. I pressurized it to find the leaking seam at the top. Then I used a vacuum to suction it and applied drops of superglue to the seam. Its been a year without a problem and the other benefit is superglue dries clear. In my case it was a small seam section and I didnt see a need to reseal the whole unit for a one inch section.

I agree. Maybe by baking it it will reseal itself. I think I will do this when the day is less shitty.

I had a condensation/leaking issue with one of my taillights, heated it up to get rid of the condensation and excess water and then I used plastic weld to close up any areas I thought the condensation was getting in through and then replaced the butyl tape surrounding it.
