I wonder if this will ever get publicity? Can't say I've seen any other trucks from any other company have this problem.

Hot. I really liked those trucks too. I knew it was too good to be true.

I had the opportunity to take an FJ off-road when I worked as a car salesman. I worked at a Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler/Subaru store and I went to a Jeep/Dodge things. The FJ really sucked compared to the Wrangler. I was really UN-impressed with it. This does not suprise me that much. I felt very unsafe in it.

FJ:Wrangler is as Potato:Tomato. The wrangler is not doubt going to be much more capable off road that the FJ, and I am in no way knocking Jeep. But the purpose of the two are pretty different. The FJ is way more comfy than the Wrangler, and has much more room for passengers and cargo.

I just think they look damn good. I didn't get to take one off road, but the test-drive I took around town in a 6-Speed was excellent.

Have you tried the 2007 4 door wranglers? They are a completely different beast, but ya, ON-road, the FJ is nice, but were they not built to compete with the Wrangler?

I have not taken the time to drive one. My first impression was, "YAY! A 4-Door wrangler", but my initial joy was quickly trampled by the replacement of godsgifttoman 4.0l I6 with some V6 I could care less about.

That pissed me off too. Time will tell if it will be as good in the long run, but for now the I-6 is still the best engine out there in my opinion. They did that in order to lower the center of gravity and make it handle better on road...plus better fuel economy... if I remember the seminar right.

Sounds to me like your wiener got a tuggin in the seminar... I'm pretty sure the reason they did it is to produce one less engine. The Wrangler was the last vehicle to use that engine, so they were pretty much producing just for that vehicle, which isn't the most economical way to run a business i guess.

Of course, they could have just brought back the XJ and sold the piss out of them and offset the cost...

But no...they had to make a Commander...it is the Escalade of Jeeps. I hate it. They also started that new thing to take the place of the XJ...can't remember the name though. Jeep line up should be Wrangler, XJ, commanche, and liberty for the ones that want to stay on-road. Maybe the compass, but that is just another pointless creation. A non-trail rated, horrible for off-road Jeep? What has the world come to?
