Rim Refinishing...

So last winter was kind of nuts for me, gf of 4 years dumped me, moved out, took a ton of classes, so changing out my rims for the winter was really really down on the list of things to do.

Big mistake as they looked like this.

Now that things are bit more in order, I first tried polishing them a bit, that didn't work as the corrosion was under the clear coat of the rim. But I found a rim refinishing place close to me, so I figured Id give them a try.

And here is how they came out...

So much better, these pictures don't do them justice.

I cant wait to do the rear ones!

Shiny, nice work
you took the rims off the car for that cleaning?
damn, that's a lot of work.
Worth it though. Good stuff

verr nice

I'm interested in rim-restoration places that could fix stock Conquest rims for me that have some curb damage.

PM me if you want their number, they take anything. Just take a little long and are a bit pricey, but its soooo worth it.

Not sure if you want to deal with shipping them to Michigan.

I searched and found some different rim restoration places around the country.

I'll chose one later.

I'd love to get my chrome rims redone..currently there's no chrome left on the lips

But all the restorations places want $400-$500 per wheel..and new chromies are $400-$500 :p
dumb.

These guys wanted 85 to refinish it, and another 15 to balance/mount the tire Alan. Really nice to work with too, show'd me the process, and I think the whole metro area give their rims to this place.

Currently trying to figure out how I want to do my rear wheels.

Chris, did they re-clearcoat them too? if so that's actually a pretty damn good price imo

Yea, they recoated them, its a bit heavier duty that was on there. On the back side of the wheel you can really see it.

nice- I've been thinking about getting a buddy who runs a body shop to re-clear my ziggies with something tougher, maybe I'll see if there's a place like that up here somewhere...

I was thinking of having my rims redone but not in chrome. Can't really justify spending 2K on wheels when it will buy better bang for the buck mods.

Chrome = +5 HP

If they're spinners, the gyroscopic stability adds handling too.
