I have the opportunity to trade my 92 RT TT (which is a garage decoration right now) for a 98 Z71 pickup (which will actually be put to use).

I'm not driving right now, and will not be for another 325 days. The pickup would be beneficial to the wife in the winter. AND - I will be buying another toy as soon as I can drive again (weather it be a 3S, some sort of motorcycle, etc.)

I do cringe at the thought of getting rid of the Stealth, but getting a new toy later sounds like fun too..........

Discuss.

We need more info on both.

Mine:
1992 Stealth RT TT
Pretty much bone stock, the tranny was recently gone through and a spec stage II installed during
89XXX miles

Theirs:
1998 Checy Z71 4X4
103XXX miles
Basicaly stock except for some aftermarket wheels

Straight trade, no cash.

Ehh I don't know about that... I would keep the Stealth, but thats just me.

Yeah, I think I would look for at least a little cash with the truck. That truck is 2 generations old now, and will feel every bit of it.

I would do that trade in a heartbeat

I'm meeting up with the guy after work today to get more info / test drive, so I'll know more about it tomorrow too. I just dunno if I should even waste the time to go and look at it.

Just talked to the guy.

The good:
It's a 98 Z71
Auto transmission rebuilt 20K ago, replaced with a Jasper (apparently good?)
Push button 4x4
High rise intake and some sort of aftermarket air filter
5.7 liter engine

The bad:
Body does have a few dings here and there
200K on the engine

The milage is really killing it for me. Other than that, it seems to be a good looking truck. And he does have the stock wheels

My initial thought is no due to the milage.

I wouldn't do it, If you want a truck you could probably sell the stealth and find a nicer Z71 or at least a lower mileage one.

No truck for me. Now new toy for me later.

But I do get to keep the Stealth for now!
