Weird tapping coming from dash when I hit boost

My car has always done this but it is starting to get annoying. I know I could just turn up my radio volume, but I mean, I am lazy and some people don't like the loud radio.
Anyways, whenever I hit boost I get this tapping sound from the dash. It is just like taptaptaptaptaptaptaptap until I get out of boost. I wonder if there is a gnowm in there that doesn't like to go fast. But I figure he would have died by now in the hot weather. Any serious thoughts on this?

Yes, and I do not have a stock boost controller. I have complete vac/emmissions reduction with a Greddy Profec B spec 2 as the boost controller. Right now I spike around 13psi. I honestly am confused as hell.

hmm. you get boost spiking with a profec b? I have one in my car and the boost control is rock solid

It's definitely the boost solenoid. Get used to it or mount it in a different place. Even mounting it with rubber inbetween the solenoid and the firewall will still create that ticking noise.

yup boost solenoid. I mounted mine under the battery and it doesn't make the noise any more

funny thing is I've never heard the one for my Profec B- used to hear the stock one all the time (usually at idle- never at boost)
