Where can I get really long bolts to mount my engine to the engine stand?
The transmission bolts just aren't long enough, but I can't find any bolts with the same thread pattern and enough length to go through the engine stand and into the transmission mount holes on the engine block.

I can get some regular long bolts and nuts to go through the two lower holes (they aren't threaded), but don't I need to mount it with all 4 arms on the engine stand? It doesn't seem safe to mount it with just the 2 lower bolts and 2 arms.

I've already checked Lowes, Home Depot, and 3 auto-parts stores in town..none of them have bolts that match the transmission bolts, let alone have ones that are even long enough. So how the heck to people mount these engines on a stand??

If NAPA doesnt have them, no auto parts store will

Check a Fastenal (they're all over the place). They'll have something that works.

That's creepy..I had never heard of Fastenal, and when you said "they're all over the place", i thought "not around here".
I went to their website to find the nearest one...there's one right down the street from me!! Creepy!

The engine for your Stealth?

They're some big metric bastards. There's a place near me called Metrics Unlimited. I may need to get some for a friend's engine project. Let me know if you want me to get some extras. Should only be a couple bucks or so.

Haha, I live in the same place where I immediatly think nothing is around here. I can think of 3 Fastenals within 30 minutes of here.

I used my transfercase bolts. lol not perfect but they work.

Thanks, dude I'll let you know either tonight or tomorrow. I was going to hit up the dealer for replacements ($$$)..I'm missing 2 transmission bolts and need a bunch of suspension and brake related bolts.

Typically my local Lowes doesnt do me wrong. I snapped a bolt for my pressure plate. Hit 6 different auto places, no one had them, hit lowes 5 minutes before closing. Guy walks me back to the fasteners.... like heaven. They had gauges to check the thread pattern, size, length.... match it all up, look for the drawer with the matching range, open it up (3' wide x 2' deep) find the match already packaged in sets of 2, 4, 6 or 8. I went with a set of grade 8 bolts, damn happy. Next day someone told me about fastenal... BASTARDS, at least Lowes saved the day that time.

Fastenal is great if you need it fast... bad if you want a cheap alternative. I had to buy a large tap for a BMW we were working on and it was $65... the drill bit for that tap was anther $45. But they had it instock and nobody else did.

I just picked up 4 of them for my engine today. the size you want is M10 1.75 pitch 100mm length. I can get them for ya for $8 plus shipping

NAPA makes autoparts Sonoma makes wine........ oh wait that is completly not relevant right now. But I did see it on a T-shirt one time.

Odd. My NAPA had the correct bolts for me. Maybe you got a dumb ass guy at the desk. Mine were red too, as all metric bolts and nuts are from there.

I special ordered M10 100mm through Fastenal and they're too long and too small
They slid right through the tranny mounting holes
I'll just have to take the two I have left out there to see if they can measure them.

Thanks for the offer of sending them out, but I'm getting a pretty good deal on them at fastenal..$2/per!

I use ones that are about 70mm long. The thread pitch is 1.75... I believe they are M12's.

The length is going to depend on the stand. I have 2 stands and they have different length arms, about 1" difference

Best way to determine the length is put a stock bolt through the bellhousing hole and measure how far they stick out, then add that to the length of the stand arm

And i use the top 4 holes on the block cause i dont like dicking with those bushings on the bottom through holes
