You put 2 LITERS of gear oil in your trans???? Holy extra capacity batman.

As for the mobil one filter. Make sure the part number on the filter matches the part number on the box. People like to be dicks at the parts stores and switch boxes.

It shouldn't be crunchy from over filling. Was it unusually cold up there this morning. My trans is a little notchy when it's cold but smooths out a bit when it warms up.

I didn't tighten your drain plug nor did I fill the tranny with fluid. ;)

Oil filters should pretty much all be the same thread unless it's some exotic filter or something, so really any filter should thread on to the car, maybe a defective mobil1 filter. Hell, the Penzoil and Fram generic filters are also the part number for pretty much all Hondas

I like your Kanji haha you should add these two characters to it: 為王

Threads actually vary quite often in filters. But yes, we use the same filters as most hondas and mazdas.

I use both Mobil 1 oil filters and Penoil syncromesh. 0 problems.

I think you either got a messed up filter or someone swapped boxes. As for the grind in the morning, only thing I can think of is it was cold, and since you were low you don't have as much coated as you should.

Should go a away after warmed up and some miles.

Good to know, filters on almost all of my cars (except the Z06) had the same threads, just different sizes :)

There are a few filters out there that look like they will be the right size for a 3/s but won't actually screw on. Same thing happened to me with a cavalier. They switched the filter in the box and we got it delivered to us without knowing. After a couple of failed attempts in screwing it on I looked at the box and realized we had the wrong filter.
