So my Teins came in yesterday...

Got me some nice Tein Flex coilovers and an EDFC controller to go with it. I haven't seen the box yet, but I'm hoping to install them this weekend. I'm excited. :)

Any tips or advice on using the Teins with EDFC?

I was thinking about getting the EDFC, but then I realized how little I play with the dampener settings. It's so easy to just pop the hood and manually adjust them...

Yeah. EDFC should be intersting. I'm not sure how much I'll ever use it. Realistically, I will probably keep the suspension as soft as possible for most driving. I got a really good deal on struts with the EDFC, so I won't feel too bad if its rarely used.

Well, preload on the struts has a lot to do ride "sensitivity". If you don't have enough, the car will be bouncy no matter how you set the dampeners. Too much and you won't notice much of a change at all.

Also keep in mind, the lower you go, the stiffer you need to make the ride.

I don't plan to lower too much. I don't have adjustable control arms, so I am looking at less than an inch of drop. If that doesn't look like enough, I'll pick up a pair from Terry once I'm comfortable with adjusting the suspension.

What kind of pre-load did you put on your Teins? I've never had adjustable suspension before, but I figure it can't be that difficult to set correctly.

Well... It's a guess and check affair (save your alignment till you found a setting you're happy with). I have them set pretty good right now where ride height is lowered about 1.5 inches and comfort is about as good as it gets but it took quite a bit of tinkering.

I don't have a tape measure handy otherwise I could give you my specs.
*mental note to bring one home tomorrow

then call u when they start to leak.....

why dont ppl go with GC's anymore? just bc they want the non ghetto coilover style?

i mean whats wrong with running GC's and ecs or kybs besides the fact that that setup cuts the life of ur struts by some time

Never had a problem with any of the people running ksports. I guess some people just don't know how to set them up properly.

Most of the time if you are doing suspension (ie springs) you will want to do the shocks/struts at the same time. For the same price you can get a proper suspension setup by purchasing coilovers.

GCs are outdated and still only a couple hundred less than k-sports. So people spend the extra $$ for the full coilover. Sort of like how the ARC2 is still 1K brand new yet you see more AEMs and EMUs in people mod lists now.

K-Sports would cost me around $1300 AUD to my door. I can spend an extra $400 and get Teins. While $400 isn't cheap, I would rather get them as I can get Tein serviced here in Oz. The K-Sports I can not.

Then you need to find a shop over there willing to sign up with Ksport. :)

Sounds like an offer to me. ;)

We have D2's here which of course are K-Sports in a different colour. Iv'e heard some horror stories about the D2's and K-Sports from the Nissan guys here tho, Not happy at all.
