Soooo.

Car is in the shop ripped apart.

The $1700 dollar trans rebuild turned into $2600 all of a sudden...joy.

I'd rant more, but I have to...work.

I go into talk to him tomorrow, because I work 14 hours today, but there was mention of welding, clutch fork, roller pins, and lots of other words I don't know.

Makes me wish I had sent it to Kormex in the first place.

No. I couldn't shift into 1st unless I was stopped, and 3rd gear was started to grind while going in at high RPM's.

It hasn't even been worked on yet, just torn apart. I'm getting the itemized list when I go talk to them tomorrow.

Ticks me off that they won't put my other radiator in without either sending it out to be tested $120, or replacing it. I don't know of any higher performing aftermarket ones that are just drop in, so I can't just buy one of those now and have them put it in.

I was going to put one of those in on my own later.

They are doing R&R for me. I would, but they won't do the rest of the R&R unless it's either replaced or tested before they put the engine in.

Had been saving for a good 6 months for this. Looks like it'll end up being another couple weeks. I swear that car is never going to move again.

Basic Long Block Rebuild $3200
Porting ~300
New Exhaust Manifold ~200, it was cracked
Oversized Valves ~500 for work and valves
Tranny Rebuild $700 labor, and who knows what like $1600 for parts now it seems
Random parts being replaced with R&R ~1200

Makes me wonder where they're getting parts, given all the trouble I've had finding some.

PWR radiators. Are they really drop in like 3SX says?

Wait, $700 in labor for a tranny rebuild is too much, but you want to get a radiator that costs 2-3x as much as a stock replacement one?

New exhaust manifolds are $90something thru any dealership that gives us discounts.
