If you could paint a 3000GT...

Post by Caffinated Soap »

...how would you do it? I don't know if I should go two-tone or just stick with a dark shade of blue.

Creative ideas will be entertained. :D

I would paint it a dark blue (midnight blue) or black base coat, then put something over it (not everywhere) that would not really stand out, but under closer inspection you could see. Like maybe really light white or grey ghost flames or something, but do not go over board.

It really depends on how it is done and on what car though too.

I always like just a dark single color that you accent with very little of another, lighter, color.

I've always been a fan of black with purple pearl. Or, more to the point, a black car that turns a deep purple under certain light.
Purple or red..I'd probably go with purple on a 3000gt, and red on a lamborghini.
Or, fiji blue w/ a couple pearl coats and flake.
Can't do that 'cause that's the color I painted my last car. ;)
It really depends on how it is done and on what car though too.
Yeah, I've seen a lot of really cool things done to a lot of different cars but somehow I don't think it'd turn out the same on a 1st gen 3/S.

Got any pictures of the technique you described? My painting skillz aren't the best, but I can tape lines like no other. :D
Well then I'd settle for pearl white. :)
Then there'd be no need for paint aside from my matching white (formerly black) trim peices. :(
See Mobo's car.
I will, all month long. :p

I'm a fan of the blue but his is a bit light for my tastes. If I were to do it in one solid color I'd pick a darker/richer blue.

I love my Pearl White. Maybe another colour with a slight pearl also. Deep metalic blue is a fave of mine.

I am having trouble finding what I mean. Those are nice, but they stand out too much.

Not where it counts it isn't! :)

BLACK
RED
WHITE
solid, as shiny and clean as possible, and as rich of a color as you can find. Those are the best paint jobs. leet (on 3si) has a sick job with his stripes, but that's it.

On the Internet they say, "You never get this! You never get this!" But then one day they all met in Cali and they get this.
