The Kick Ass new FMIC from GReddy which doesn't need any modifications, apparently needs quite a bit of modification. Such a shame if it is the case. This could have been a real good mod for this platform.
I didn't read all of it, but Deft has an ATX....that would make things a little different than a 5/6 speed. It seems like that's what he was running in to.
Yeah, Bill had some mods to get around the ATX, but he also had to cut his crash bar, as did some of the others. DJ4Play has just posted saying DO NOT CUT THE BAR! He says they need to drill holes in the straps and believes no-one will lose their bars.
I dont believe greddy would spend that much time in making something for a car that has been out of production for 8 years, when they didnt during the 8 years it was in production.

Didn't Greddy previously make an FMIC for the car? I know they made a turbo kit and quite a few other parts.
I believe GT Pro may have approached Greddy and said, put your name on this kit we're making for the 3/S. Greddy said whatever, and GT Pro used their name.
The kits appear to have been packed by Greddy, for whatever that is worth.
Hannibalzero: Whoa, Jeffro and Melis in the same thread? Did we somehow enter a timewarp back to 2008?
thestealth:woohoo...I'm only 35!!! :ick:
All I can say is I love how Graig breaks threads with his sarcastic remarks.........I always chuckle when things get all serious and I'm reading along........ and here comes MONOCHROME BOOM!
Either way, it is pretty and I wish I could have been on that GB.
Also supposedly one of the brackets was supposed to get two holes and it only got one, if you drill one hole in the lower intercooler bracket it bolts right up with and retains the crash bar.
The thing is nothing is going to fit perfectly on every car, hell I ran into some fitament problems using oem parts.
John - you converted. Your always going to have more problems than anyone else.
As for this FMIC, I would love to have been part of it. Great price, great product (hopefully) but I have heard WAAAAYYYYY to much bad stuff about GTPro.
The only modifications you have to do on that front mount is drill a hole in each lower bracket... BFD!
Everything else fits like a glove.
In the greddy catalogs for the past 2 years there has been an application part # for our cars for a FMIC, but it was never available, price was listed as TBD. This was in the works for quite a while, and it is an autehntic Greddy USA part.
That is really good to hear. I hope this FMIC GB is successful as if it goes well, which I believe it has, GReddy may look to other parts. A big shot, but it's there.
I'm not a fan of GTPro myself, but I've met brian probably 40-50 times at various racing events, shows, and his shop. He seems/sounds like the typical businessman who dreams big and tries to please everyone but always falls short.
Sounds like the FMIC fits to me...just maybe not for people with swapped motors and/or ATX transmissions
