The issue with the car

So I had the work done on my car as most people around here know. Transmission/TC rebuild, new clutch, flywheel, engine build up.

Had an issue come up about 1500 miles later, was getting a vibration from 2000-2500rpm. I made an appointment to take it back in the next week. Well the next day, I'm doing my weekly oh please oh please don't be leaking fluid check up, and what do I see...2 piles of fluid.

At first I thought they were two different types of oil, as one was much darker, though on closer look I find it's just dripping down to a different spot.

I take it in, Inner seal on the transmission is was causing it, and the input shaft bearing was toasted. It's being replaced under warranty, but is this something I should get used to having problems with? I don't pretend to understand what the breaking parts in our drivetrains are supposed to be (other than synchros).

sounds like a common issue. yours is the 5th 6 speed ive seen with a failed input shaft bearing and seal after a recent rebuild.

The seal must be installed perfectly square in order for it to work properly. That's assuming they even replaced it...
Ask them if they re-shimmed it with the new tapered roller bearings. AFAIK that is an issue after they press on new end bearings.
I'll ask. All I know is that the part is the same one that is on http://www.supercar-engineering.com I honestly don't know if that's what you're talking about by bearings.

Scotty: I assume you mean Northbend Tech? I'm 2000 miles away from them.
The bearings I'm talking about are tapered roller bearings, originally sourced by FAG, I believe I got my replacements from Timken (well, Autocraft, but they were Timken bearings) - you need to pull it them off to get to anything on the shaft. Your tranny doesn't whine, does it?
Nope not at all. Only things wrong I could see was the vibration, and the leak.

2000 miles? Hmmm, that is quite the journey. Hope you get it sorted mate.
