Started working on repainting my calipers. Good thing, now I notice I need new brake pads too!
Looks like there were several layers, the top layer faded and flaky, the layer below was pretty bright AND tough. Tried a wire wheel brush with air tools...hardly scratched the surface. Took some more off with a hand wire brush...slow going. So I went with paint remover. Mo' betta!

Check out the ramps that my dad built because he was sick of working under a jacked up 3S. He's the best.
Makes working under the car a breeze.
Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer
Is the level of bullshit you have to go through to change things in a direction you want, less than than or equal than the level of current bullshit?
Hannibalzero: Whoa, Jeffro and Melis in the same thread? Did we somehow enter a timewarp back to 2008?

I'm not underneath it now. There are two scissor jacks right now justfor cleaning the caliper. I know better. There's not a good place to put a jack stand on the ramps.
I love being chided about this! One of my biggest fears working on a car is being squished. I'm UBER parinoid about it, and always make sure there are one or more failsafes when I'm under one. Those ramps are the safest thing I can imagine working under, even more than a lift, it's SOLID.
Even if those scissor jackS went AND I was under it (take another look) look at the clearance I'd still have with the car sitting on the rotor.
It just looks like if the jack fails, the car might slip/bounce off the ramps when it drops.
