Using the 3.8L Monte upper.

I'm reading a lot about advances in spray pattern and droplet size. I'm wondering if there would be any drivability gains by swapping a set into the VR4. :chin:
Good luck getting them to fit. Would need to install the 3.8 Eclipse intake and make adjustments to the rail iirc.

Have I mentioned I have two of these Montero intakes?

You'd have to cut your hood though.

Well that is 1 more than I and i had to buy in in VA i think. They dont pop up over here that often.

You going to use the SR/Kia upper manifold to fit under the hood, or cutting and running the 03'+ whole intake?

Why would I have bought not just one but two 3.8 Monte intakes if I was going to use Kia parts?

That's why I have a second, bashed up Monte intake. So I can get that right before I cut up the nice one.

Interested in how you plan to cut it up and not the hood. Im not seeing how it will fit. The SR/Kia one will clear with just enough room.

Or if i knew someon with a cutting table I could make the stock 3.8L Eclipse intake work with the addition of a 1" aluminum spacer.

I had to cut the intake to clear the right valve cover. Gonna have to delete the EGR as a result. The hood will be cut anyway.

Got to get the ECU and fuse box mounted so I can start extending things like the MAF and throttle body circuits. I also need to add in the MIVEC control stuff since the majority of this harness came off an Endeavor.

Gonna try to finish up the fuel lines over the next couple days too.

It's pretty bad when eBay parts are cheaper than Pick N Pull parts.

Yea, pick n pull is getting greedy.

They've been getting a lot of newer cars lately, so I kind of get it. But if I can get something for half the price, and I don't need to pull it myself? Even if the price was the same, my time is worth something too. Like the airbag module I just got for $17. Might as well have been free once you factor time into it.

How much will I regret it if I call a scrapper to take this thing away?

I have almost completely lost interest in it. The only reason I even still have it is because I can't quite bring myself to write it off as yet another failed/abandoned project. I'm not exactly thrilled with writing off the money I sunk into it, but I'm coming to grips with that aspect too.

What would it take to motivate you to finish it at least? I can help with parts if you need, or I can text you in the late hours of the night. :)

Your project has been a big undertaking, bigger than mine and im excited to see you finish. Mostly because I think your ECU setup will net greater HP than mine.
