Might have someone local coming to look at it tonight, weather permitting. I've had a couple other nibbles, but nothing serious.
I went through and did a few of the online quotes. Got numbers from 37-41k. TrueCar had an estimate of 43, but I think that's just their optimistic guess and they farm it out to local dealers to do a real quote.
I'm not ready to do that, but I need to know what my floor is so I can negotiate with potential buyers.

I would think yours is worth more than the bottom dollar a dealer would give you, especially with the upgrades and modifications you've done to it, which actually add to the value.

I dunno. I've got mixed feelings about it. I know exactly how I did that stuff and that it won't have any negative effect on the car, but other people may get freaked out by it. Modern electronics are terrifying to some people, and the idea that some random DIYer was messing with the car in that way is an automatic hard pass.

True, but all of that stuff was standard on later years. So basically they are getting a newer C7, at least a sane individual should realize that.

Truth. They are improvements. Not dollar for dollar, but they should put you on the top end of your selling average.
You have a very nice car in a very seller friendly market. Its your time to be as selective as you want. Buyers are plentiful atm.

Yeah, but if anything goes wrong with the upgrades the dealer might not be able to fix it.

They might never have a problem either and could likely further benefit from his modifications. That is the joy of buying used.

I was just texting with someone about the car. He asked for the VIN so he could run a Carfax. Then he asks "do you know what the damage report was?"
Excuse me? Damage? WTF.
There's some minor rear end damage logged in April 2016. That wasn't on the report Carmax gave me when I bought the car in Nov 2017. It looks like they may not have added that info until April of 2018? I need to get a copy of this report.
Dammit. I've been telling people "no accidents or damage". Now I look like I'm covering something up.
Fuck.
He still seems interested though, so that's good.

Why would they wait 2 years to add some rear end damage???

There are TWO.
06/27/2015
08/14/2015
Both are "Accident reported
Vehicle involved in a rear-end collision with another motor vehicle
Damage to rear
Airbags did not deploy
"
The 2nd one wasn't reported until April 2018.
FUCK.

I've told probably 3 different people this thing has no accidents. I even updated the post this morning to say that.
Dammit.
The TX guy says he's still interested at 45k though. So this may not be a total failure.
Carmax uses Autocheck, so that might explain the discrepancy.
Carfax pisses me off though. They'll tell you there was a 'damage' but don't disclose ANY detail. So it could have been a shopping cart nick, or it could have been a smashed bumper.

Yeah that is a really annoying thing about Carfax. Sucks that it shows up all of the sudden and CarMax had NO IDEA about it...

It doesn't even say where it happened or who reported it. It just has that smug fucking fox gesturing at a vaguely car shaped line drawing.

I guess I should calm down. The guy is asking for a walkaround video and an address to send a cashiers check to.

That sucks! Previous seller didn't disclose that BS. Total crap. Now you have to deal with their fallout.
Wonder why it lagged so long if you didn't see it prior. Could they have dragged their feet on finalizing the claim?
Sorry Jeff.

It's an easy thing to ask for though. I figure I'll give him a cold start and then a walk around while it's idling.

Carfax is a joke. Subaru I picked up a couple years ago had a "odometer rollback" warning or whatever it was.
Mileage reported over a few years...
35k
39k
42k
492k
53k
I was selling it with around 55k iirc. Got called out on that thanks to carfax. Asked if they actually looked at the reported mileage. "Oh." Lost more than a couple possible sales thanks to that.
