Yep. Already have a complete 68 front end sitting in the garage. Has some dents/rust/bondo, but pretty good for the most part. So once I am done wiring everything and done with the front suspension, the new front end is going on. Then the rear suspension, gas tank, and rear diff work starts. After that, exhaust and figure out engine/tranny leak. Then prep for paint.

Re: The MARO
Took out more of the interior today on lunch. The wiring that goes to the back is behind a panel that is not coming off for some reason. Took off all the screws I could find, but it is still stuck. I will look more at it after work.

Re: The MARO
Interior gutted so far. Not really going to need to do more. Might pull carpets completely and clean under them, but they are pretty good and glued to the foam under so kind of a pain.

Started to tinker more on the engine side on lunch. Tired of sitting inside of the car. Next step will be wiring harness I think?
If the hood doesn't close with this air cleaner, I do have a thinner filter that will fit in the new cleaner.
Also thinking about swapping out that valve cover breather for something nicer, but our neighbor has chrome valve covers he might give us.

Seeing those engine pictures just made me think if you have ethanol in your gas at all you want to either blow out the carb or run some fuel stabilizer through the system. The ethanol will jack up the carb really fast.
Re: The MARO
Yea, i have a whole thread with my Ram 50 on here about it. That stuff turns to garbage if you let it sit.

I am sure this will give most of you anxiety, but in my mind, it is organized chaos. I know where everything is, where it goes, and what needs done.
Re: The MARO
Thats not so bad. I can barely walk through mine. Just keep good notes somewhere as these builds tend to get carried away and you can start to forget details.

Re: The MARO
I don't know how this ended up in my YouTube feed, but maybe it'll be useful to you.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Re: The MARO
I'll post some pictures later, but got some wiring done this weekend. Danielle is under the weather so it was just me. Hence slow progress. But...
All old wiring is out.
New dash wiring is in, but the wiper switch is broke so waiting for replacement to arrive. Headlight switch, ignition, transmission, heater core and switches, steering column, brake pedal, horn, and turn signals wired.
Getting replacement lenses for the gauge cluster and a new Amp meter. Once those arrive I'll wire that all in along with the tach, water temp gauge, and oil pressure. It's all sitting there prepped for install. Just needs done.
Radio is wired and ran speaker wire, but didn't install speakers yet.
Under the hood I ran all the wires to where they need to be, but haven't cut to length or wrapped them yet. Only item missing I have to order is a washer pump. I have a kit with all the tubes and everything, but just realized the pump is missing. Lol
That just leaves tail lights, headlights, and courtesy lights.
While taking out the old wires found the relay for the electric headlight covers was shot. Danielle said she doesn't care as she prefers to see the headlights anyway. So I'll bypass that and see how it goes.

Old wires:

New wires:
As you can see, they come with color coded schematics and full step by step instructions for each bag, what order to install them in, and each wire is labeled with purpose every few inches. Also comes with all needed connections, ends, tubing, etc. Really other than some tape, it is a complete kit. Most things are already cut and set to the proper length as well.

Re: The MARO
In a little bit of a holding pattern until some more parts arrive. The wiring in the engine runs along the fenders, and I have no fenders. Lol.
So mocked up the new tail lights, got the rear speakers ready to be connected, installed the handles on the steering column, painted some faded interior bits, and installed new gaskets on the shifter plates.
Did find out ididit forgot to send a horn cable. So need to reach out to them to get one sent.
Anyway, here is what the new tails will look like.

New tails are a big improvement.
Be glad you have a strong aftermarket for your Camero. My early Charger stuff is frustrating to find as there is very little support unless it coincides with 68-70 model years.

Re: The MARO
Trying to figure out what to do about painting this thing.
Currently have 4 options.
1 - Pay $40-60k with a 6 month to 2 year wait list for show quality work
2 - Pay $11-12k for a "driver" car paint job at a shop.
3 - Pay $7500 for a local guy who does it in his spare time, but will strip it, do any body work, etc in that price. But also takes a couple of months to do it since can only work in spare time.
4 - Pay for supplies - welder and paint - neighbor has painting supplies, and try it myself. About $3-4k.
