Damn. Did they just end up re-doing the whole thing?
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

The guy dropped by yesterday to pick up what's hopefully the last batch of parts for the spare engine. Got to listen to him go on and on again about how he's into this for more than he expected, but that's ok because it looks so good and the car is so straight and solid and blah blah blah.
I don't think he's saying it to make us feel guilty, but I'm still getting tired of hearing about it.

Tired of hearing him think he overpaid?
Eh, no one does cars as a hobby and makes money.

That's his problem....he probably underpaid for the car in all actuality.

Yeah. That, and all the cars he has and all the money he spends on them and all the people he knows that can do different things for him.
I get it. You're cool. Go away now.

Repainting whole car.. Its good but when pulled outside the color was off. Kind of torn and exhausted on whole car because I was hoping to have it back quick and it turned into just a bit more than I hoped. . Like I said it turned out good but I wasnt happy with match in places. Like i can see it. My buddy is kind of fed up with me over it.

Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer
Is the level of bullshit you have to go through to change things in a direction you want, less than than or equal than the level of current bullshit?

Really hard to match paint that is that old, and been sitting outside for a good portion of it's life. Not surprised it didn't match. Oh well, he still got a heck of a deal.

And that is exactly why I told her it was a bad idea to do just the hood. This guy did most of the car and couldn't make it match.

It definitely looks good. But who knows how much he's got into it, even with his buddy hookup.

Jeez, did you tell the guy to send you updates on the car or something? I think when I sell the Spyder, I don't ever want to see it or hear about it again. Probably wishful thinking though, I can imagine for years fielding questions like "Hey, I wish the speedo needle was blue instead of orange so it matches the backlighting - how do you get that all apart?" or "My buddy was going to tune the car, and he plugged into the Infinity and he can't get it to work."

Now, if it was someone that I know well that would be a different story. I just fear the random 3rd party who decides that since they bought it from me that I'm their perpetual tech support guy. lol
Like my whole family thinks I'm the "Wifi Guy".

Did we mention we gave this guy a flash ECU as part of the package? He said he had one previously and didn't know how to make it work.Matt wrote:Jeez, did you tell the guy to send you updates on the car or something?
