I bet it’s the servo in the gauge. I’ve replaced and swapped the pump stuff to no avail on 3 pumps. It’s the gauge.

A faulty motor wouldn't trigger the low fuel warning on the display screen.

These senders are weird. GM Parts Direct says the sender for my truck fits 2006-2009, all engines. It's $110.

I also found a different part number. GMPD says it's for 09-10 and it's $60.

Rock Auto has both. $56 and $170 The only obvious difference is the connector.

I wonder if it was a mid-stream change in 2009 ahead of the FlexFuel introduction in 2010? I can't find anything that mentions build dates or VIN sequences.

Right. You should also have a p046x stored since it uses FLI for evap diagnostics.

Yep. There's a P0461-00 stored in the history for the ECM. I finally got my bootleg Tech2 emulator working on my good laptop, so I was able to go and pull a whole bunch of stuff out of it.

The gauge motors sweep just fine. There's history codes for the fuel gauge, and the oil pressure gauge (P0523). I'll need to check that. The ECM think's there's 50% of a tank left, which is where the gauge is stuck. I know that's wrong. One of the tests is to unplug the fuel sender unit and make sure the inputs drop to 0, but of course, I can't reach the damn connector without dropping the tank.

I also pulled the calibration checksums from the ECM. It's got a tune in it. I need to find a cheap way to pull that out and have a look at it. More for curiosity than anything else.

The interior is really nice. It's got WeatherTech mats front and rear. The cargo area is almost untouched. There's a missing piece in the back seat because I took it off ahead of installing the backup camera.







The engine bay is really clean too. It's not very pretty without that cover though.





This gives you an idea of how bad the wheels are. It's interesting. The spare isn't black. But it's still got a lot of peel. The tire looks like it's never been on the ground.

She does look to be in really good condition. Get the keys and you can tote a nice axe and shovel like the rest of the overlanders.

So do you think your truck has been reupholstered?

Not so much reupholstered as someone just swapped in seats from a different model. That's why the plugs on the passenger seat don't match. I'm guessing that's where the nav radio came from too.

If it was only up to me, I'd put cloth back in. I don't like leather seats. But Vira likes them, so they're staying. I'll figure out what I need to build a jumper harness to get the passenger seat fully functional. It's pretty low on the priority list though.

Ya that engine is just not a pretty one. I've debated on taking the engine cover off mine because it's useless but it's not pretty underneath. Lol

Staying the same is easier than getting something new.

If you want to share a vehicle with someone, there are compromises...like when it'll be down for an engine swap.

Yes, we met right in the middle and did it her way. In all seriousness, there wasn't much room for true compromise. It's either leather or cloth. There's no middle option. It's not even like we could swap them with the seats in the orange truck. If we did that, then none of the power seat options would work in that truck. I do plan on getting a cover for the driver's seat though.
