But that would be REALLY pushing my budget, especially with such low MPG.

Basically right now, between what I pay for fuel and electric I would need to average about 40-50 mpg if wanted to spend the same each month in just fuel.

I would be comfortable with $20k or less for payment. $25k is pushing the boundary big time.

Swift gti exhaust manifold and suspension/brakes
Esteem seats
1.6 esteem engine swap

44mpg with a lead foot. Breaks the tires loose from a 2nd gear punch.

Don't need that much mpg. Just saying that is what I'm giving up. So have to keep that in mind when shopping. I know a truck will get way less than that. That is why I don't want to spend too much.

I know you guys are annoyed with me, but just playing around this morning waiting for the caffeine to kick in. So set limit for $15k - my half way point.

Also found quite a few F-150s with the 5.4 or the 5.0 with the extended cab, but not much with the Crew Cab so not sure how I feel about that. Also found a some with the 3.5, but if getting a Ford going to look at the 5.0 if I can.

But for the right price I would think about it. Not worth $20k+ for me. Around $15k I would consider it.

Right now the standings are:

09+ Avalanche (6 speed) if spending closer to $20k
05-06 Tundra (need to drive one first to confirm) if staying closer to $10k
Then a toss up between 4 speed Avalanche, Silverado, and F150 if around $15k - prefer reliability/exterior of F150, interior/comfort of Silverado/Sierra, versatility of Avalanche. Just a bit nervous of the AFM issues in the GM, but if going Ford prefer the 5.0 so that limits it as well for the price range.

Well looking at this again. Getting really tired of the Volt and driving it 6 days a week is really starting to show more issues I have with it. Plus getting to drive trucks with work makes me realize how much more I like them.

After I get the jeep back (still in the shop, the rails are done, but they are going to powder coat them, I'll update my jeep thread when done), I might look into selling the Volt. Private party is about $10k. Might sell it, daily the jeep, and look for a truck over the next few months.

That is actually not bad, but a bit more mileage than I would want. Of course I'm just starting this so might be a few months yet.

I honestly wonder how bad an idea it is. V10 would drink gas like like no other. The truck would easily be able to tow anything I'd want to throw at it.

You would daily drive a v10 with 200k? If not a daily I say go for it. If a daily then that’s dummer than a lot of my ideas.
