Is this your first time changing the oil in your car?
First time for the escape since I’ve owned it yes. I did the trans drain and flush like two days after getting it though.

Ford's oil life monitors will take you to around 10,000 miles with normal driving. I change the oil in the Focus and Explorer at 5,000 regardless what the monitor says.

Perfect. Graci. Btw this t50 torques bit on the PTU is a PAIN IN THE ASS. Why is it so tight?

Well I gave up. I could turn it and I had no Pb blaster to let it soak. So it will have to wait till next oil change.

The front windows not being tinted have been driving me NUTS. So tomorrow it’s getting dropped off to get the fronts tinted the same as the rear, illegal in TN but all my vehicles have had that tint and never had a problem.

Prob gonna do the wife’s with legal after that and then the avalanche with illegal. Really need to have the vr4’s Stripped and then reapplied as it’s purple and has been since I got it. I’m sure it was black at one point.

Got around to washing it and waxing it. Cleaned the wheels all nice, and used the same restore on plastic that I used on the avalanche. It’s not a coating that washes off like others. It’s a lacquer and it gets into the plastic. Avalanche guys say it lasts easily a year but you will start noticing it fading at that point. It stinks. It stinks till it’s 100% dry and that takes a couple hours. I made our engine bay STINK because I didn’t realize it when I did the avalanche. Anyways, escape looks GOOD right now and I’m loving it.

Still want to change the TC gear oil and would like to get a K&N air filter. Wouldn’t mind putting a little better brake pad on the front. But nothing in any hurry.

You're probably 1 of 10 people in the US that want's an Escape Diesel

No where near enough demand to warrant bringing a EuroSpec Diesel up to US emission standards.

I love the idea of a diesel in small cars and SUV's but the cost benefit analysis almost never pencils out because the price difference between gas and diesel here isn't great enough for it to work.

Yup, and I just read an article the other day that diesel (and jet fuel) prices will be going up significantly in 2020, because the shipping industry has new emissions guidelines to follow, and won't be able to use bunker oil for fuel anymore, unless they install expensive scrubbers on their exhaust systems. That'll make it even harder to justify a diesel in a small vehicle.

I have a 2013 Escape Titanium - the dealer made me a deal I couldn't refuse (I was buying a cheapie Suzuki for running around the property at work).

Handling package (19" wheels, etc); turns like a slot car - downright Stealth-like, really - though the All Season Conti-Pros are a bit worn so it pushes a little in snow.

The low-profile tires are a bit rough-riding.

Gonna refit some Michelins or something soon.

I like the Ecoboost turbo 4 - gets 27-28 on the road.

Manual says if I put premium in it it'll make 240 HP.

Fuck that, but.

Got all the toys, Sony 10-speaker system doesn't suck too bad.

In a test of all the vehicles in its class they named it the most car like handling. It really does decent. I would like a better sway bar.

I use premium and average 27 but lately in the summer been 29/30. I’m happy with it.

I think I have mentioned it before but my ex had first one then another Ford Escape Titanium.. loaded awd etc.. wasn't too bad, other than that the A pillar gave me a bad blind spot for roundabouts due to my position and as every other Ford seat - it killed my back.

I have an aversion to roundabouts, period.

yup AWD 2.0 turbo. I wish I would have held out for a titanium, the seats are much better. How many miles you got? I changed drained and refilled my trans fluid after hearing horror stories of people waiting till 150k like the manual said to.

You're younger than I am.

It all makes sense, now...
