Autox events are 3x a month here, plus 4 pretty cheap track days. If my job didn't suck I'd be at all of them, plus a hpde or two.

Lmao. I mean that would be like you swapping your wheels and tires for stockers since you only go on trails 5-6 times a year. It's not a difficult task, but leaving you offroad tires on isn't really hurting anything, so why go through it.

I think a lot of those tow hooks are like most of the other stuff we're discussing. It's either strictly for looks, or "maybe just in case one day I get this thing on a track, I'm gonna be ready....even if the track doesn't require it"

Depends on the hook too. Some ricers like those shitty aluminum ones that they screw into their bumpers lol.

I'd never do that. I am a little tweaked that the car has NO factory tow provisions though. They didn't start adding them to base and Z51 until a few months into 2015.

Seem easy enough to screw and unscrew.

That's the thing. The bumpers on my car don't have the threaded receivers. There's some people that make add-on receivers, or I could install front and rear bumpers from the 2015+ car.

What's even funnier is the front grille and rear bumper do have pop out plastic covers where the tow hook goes

I no longer have an off-roader and the XJ has the stock wheel/tires from the LJ.

Do subaru things probably once a week or once every two weeks minumum. Lots of rough gravel roads to get to the nice spots.
