Figure on Mellisa inviting you to the C7 Stingray Facebook group. I would encourage you to not join that one, as it is mostly a bunch of old crotchety folks complaining about people parking their cars next to their Corvette in parking lots and crap like that.

I still can't decide how I feel about the C7. I know I say it a lot, but I can't love it like I have previous generations. Just something about it. Can't put my finger on it. Beautiful car and mad respect for them, but just feel something is "wrong" about it. I don't know.

Mmm, so I've had to program OBD hooks into non OBD related things before because letting it run its normal course would affect the emissions.

For example, I programmed all the Automatic Engine Shutdown features and it wasn't an OBD program but I needed hooks to keep it from shutting the car down during an OBD test.

She's been texting me since she found out I got the car. She's telling me I need to create a Facebook account for no other reason than to join the C7 group.

I took the car over to the Chevy dealer by the house. I needed a state inspection so I can get it registered. I could get that done at a ton of places, but there's an open airbag recall, so I figured I'd talk to them about scheduling that.

The recall was only a reprogram, so they did that and the inspection in about an hour. I was surprised at how busy they were, so an hour was reasonable. They also gave me the inspection for free, so I saved $12 and I don't need to make a second trip for the recall.

It put a big grin on my face to see "14 Corvette - Jeff V" on their work status board in the waiting room.

They also gave me the GM VIS (vehicle information system) report showing all the warranty info and any repairs done by a GM dealer.

It's had the cargo tie downs replaced One at 4xxx and the other 3 at 11,xxx. There's also a known issue with the fuel filler neck, but that's been taken care of too.

How do cargo tie downs go bad?

If you like to see photos of a handful of people's cars over and over again, then by all means you will probably love it. There's one guy who calls his car "The Doctor" or some bullshit like that, and he posts photos of his car with ugly wheels every other day or so. And the posts about "some jackass had the nerve to park next to me, completely within the lines, in the parking lot!" It really gets old fast.

I'm more into the performance aspects and there are better places for that stuff than Facebook for sure.

Hell if I know. I haven't posted any pictures of the trunk, but it's got stretchy cargo shades. I wonder if maybe the elastic cords on those just pulled the plastic cargo hooks loose from the trim. :d ontknow: It is a Chevy after all

Yeah, I'll pass There's a reason I don't have a Facebook account. Buying a Corvette doesn't change that reason. If I sign up for CorvetteForum.com it'll just be for Classifieds access.

This car has factory installed no-lift-shift. I did not know that.

No joke, this is why I don't drive a nice vehicle to coach in. Parents treat you different when you drive a nicer car then them. Same thing when you are in sales like my dad, you better have a nice vehicle, and it better be American made or they arnt buying anything. People are judge mental as fuck man.

That, along with the cold weather, is why I haven't taken it to work yet.

It's funny. If I had a nice house in Leawood and two kids in private school, nobody would bat an eye. That shit would cost way more than a 4 year old Corvette.

Yep. There is also the old saying that you better not drive a nicer car than your boss. It is such an American thing to be honest.. the difference between the house and the car.. and the judgementalness towards nice cars.

We all make snap judgements of others when we see something. I don't care if it's a mom driving a horrible car with two kids in the back, we make a assumption of why. My wife gets mad when kids get dropped off in nice cars but kids apply for free or reduced lunch. The difference is not acting on it and that's where a lot of people fail. Maybe this women did feel sorry for vira and was cutting her own pay because she thought you all were in a different situation and now may know otherwise and she should get paid what she is worth as well. But if she is now price hiking just because of the vette then she isn't a good person.

One of my main pet peeves is that everyone at the fire hall complains about not ever getting a raise. But if you look in the parking lot 90% of them drive 40+k vehicles. That's because we all have secondary jobs but if any person drives by and sees that then they arnt gonna give us a raise. We should all drive busted junk in.
