I didn't know you owned MP until I met you for the first time (ECG a few years back?)

Granted, consumers will generally buy where the prices are lowest. I personally haven't bought much for my car, so my opinion is worthless. As mentioned, I would DEF. change your board username - people that see you might think you're just a nutswinger.

It's just word of mouth - people already know Terry is a really nice guy - I can't remember anyone ever saying something bad about you or your business.

The new banner and slogan is fantastic. It's good to see a business owner that can take good advice and actually implement it.

I'm trying to understand this thread Terry. Maybe I'll come-off like an ass, but it's not my intention here. You say sales are good (granted it's not booming every single week), but you don't understand why you don't own the entire 3/s market. Is that correct? If so, I can think of a number of reasons.

*Other vendors offer something or a service that you don't, and they buy the stuff from them at the same time.

*they are physically located closer to that shop

*they never knew you even sold *insert part* because your site isn't laid out like 3sx or DR. You could try making a thread showing a few parts you sell that you may not have sold too many of. The borla catback comes to mind. I never even knew you could get them until we talked at Vinnies that night.

*they get a better deal thru another vendor.

A few other points that come to mind. No one (and that term is over exaggerated) really cares about an NA FWD that runs mid-high twelves. Hell, no one really cares about a TT AWD that runs mid-high twelves either. This is probably why you're name isn't out there as much as you'd like.

I also agree, your user name doesn't really stand out. Hell, I don't even know what it is off the top of my head on 3si. 91ESsomethingorother

Like I said, I don't mean to come off like an ass, but I do hope this sheds some lights on new ideas.

At the same time, I don't think you're as unpopular as you think. I don't know anyone else who is as well known for adjustable control arms, solid motor mounts, and powder coating as you are. I know where I'm going to be getting all that thru. ;)

Greg - Thanks for the input. Sales are more ok than good. I still sell more custom stuff than aftermarket stuff though which to be honest is sorta ok with me since I make a lot more money off that stuff. I just want to bump that aftermarket stuff more since it is easier to do. I don't plan on owning the 3S market but just taking a bigger piece of the pie.

I think most of what you stated has been mentioned and I agree I need to get the word out more. You said it...if someone mentions powdercoating, solid mounts, or CA's my name is mentioned. What I want is people to mention my name for the aftermarket stuff. That sale I had with the AEM wideband helped me out there and I'm selling more of those than anything because people plug them.

So after changing my main banner on 3SI to an animated gif my ad clicks doubled. Now I just need to make something with a little more color and I'm guessing that'll go up even more.

What about bushings etc for the suspension? My car is a 92, I'd like to replace a lot of stock suspension parts while the engine is out, and I'd buy a 'kit' for a complete overhaul of the front and rear. Makes it so much easier than trying to figure out what you need, how many and thinking you have it all but you dont lol. I believe 3sx has something like this.

Really, anything with a life expectancy and and extensize amount of 'small' parts that could be bundled would be ideal.

Terry - I have to say it took me a while to realise who you actually were. I know Monett uses a different username that doesn't advertise who he works for (cept for the av) but he was always breaking records and his name was always thrown around as far as best 3/S drivers. But as mentioned by Coop, when drivers get out there and rip off records and fastest EVER times, it's hard NOT to take notice. You of course are N/A (pfffttt - j/k) and that puts alot of people off from the get go. For some reason, a 2.0 60 foot time is garbage for any 3000GT. Drunken jibberish continued next line down
I, like alot, really only knew you guys for your solid mounts. But having read one of your threads on your WB02's, it had me very interested, and still am. ;)

I heard about you, from your sponsorship of some of the "smaller" Gatherings! That's a great way to get your name out there. Even better when you come and party with us so we get to know the "person" behind the business! :)

Yeah Terry is cool to party with. I have yet to see a select person at any gathering though.... :p

To be honest i would much rather sponsor all the small gatherings than the NG. I think I do get more exposure. I think it also helps to actually hang out with/party with the people too. Make me seems more of a friend than just a business. At least that's my reason for passing out in the NG parking lot at 7am. :)
