Didn't go. It was raining. Set for Oct 3 if weather cooperates.

Back road. Down to 11.4. Lots of spin in 1st still though.

0-60 in 3.73 seconds isn't bad.

Again on a private road. Not really taken care of. Decent wheel spin and dust on road so traction bad.

Is the mustang running? There was a big thread about it but I forgot what happened.

Pretty sure wheel hub assembly needs replaced. Grinding on turns. Lift in air and spin wheel and hear light grinding when spinning. Then doing the shake thing there is clicking/movement when doing the 9/3 push pull. If you understand what I mean. Lol

So after replacing the hubs I was under it doing a final check over and saw the rear cv shaft boot by the diff had lost its clamp. Grease everywhere. Ordered a replacement shaft since who knows what all made it in there. Should be here Friday. Want to get it fixed and running before end of weekend if I can. Plan on racing it on the 3rd. In the meantime, since I had it on the lift, went ahead and swapped in new fogs.

Yuck. Are the rear CV's rated for your power increase?

if its anything like my mustang the OEM axles are the best option out there.

There are some aftermarket ones that can handle more, but looking at $1000+ for them. Apparently the C5 ones are a little stronger and can be swapped in. But finding them can be a pain.

we have aftermarket stuff too (dss, g-force) for 2500-3k. stock is stronger.

Interesting.

I was talking to my tuner, apparently the 09+ can be a bit stronger, but that requires swapping the rear wheel bearing assembly as well.

replace the boot, grease em up, put em back on, slide it together, clamp.

put it on the shelf as a spare.

Debating on it. Not something I'd want to run permanently but as a quick swap in to get me home, especially if I break one at the track.

Any idea what grease and how much?

god it took an act of congress to get my front axle out in the lexus. It came apart like that as well and the c clip on the stub would not release.
