Vira's car is louder than mine. No cats at all. I can hear her coming from several blocks away.

There's a Roush Mustang down the street that's pretty loud too.
Mustang is the ass then. You're safe.

Got it installed last night. It's so nice working on something that isn't all rusty underneath. It came apart fairly easily. I think the worst part was installing the new seal donuts so they didn't get damaged.

The donut gaskets were this weird compressed metal stuff. My father in law said it's actually common in aerospace applications. They didn't want to slip on to the new x-pipe easily though. I had to whack them pretty good with a rubber mallet.

I've still got some really minor leaks at both ends. I'm hoping those will close up once everything heat cycles a few times.

It sounds great on a cold start and with some revs. I haven't had it out for a drive yet though.

Nice! I wanted to do that on mine, but at this point it is too late to make it worthwhile.

Did you start it with no exhaust?!

No. But now I kind of wish I had

Karen would have reared her ugly head if you did.

Looks good. Did remove 2 cats or resonators as well?

It deletes the two sub-cats. I've still got the two main cats in the downpipes. You can see them in the first photo.

Move to the west coast, where a 16 yr old truck with 160k on it has the same amount of rust as your vette.

Sound clips?

My buddy just got a new 2020 F-150 Lariat EcoBoost. Think he's going to put an exhaust on it (Borla). I told him we have to start it with the catback off just because

 I'm sure it will sound just as bad as the Ford GT

This. My 89 s10 has no rust.

It'll sound like poop.

But the borla is probably the best sounding exhaust on those. We used to get people asking what they should get. Our answer was always Ford racing/borla or leave it alone. Every single one we've done has sounded terrible.

The AWE doesn’t sound terrible either, though it is more $$.

Been looking at AWE and Borla for the RS too...

Finally sat down and played with my video editor a little bit. I took some in-car video, but the audio was crap on both the GoPro and the PDR. I need to figure out a better mic solution.

My friend had an m3 that he autocrosses. He had a lapel mic taped to the top center of the rear bumper, had great exhaust audio on his videos.

Even with the valve closed it sounds really good!

That was in sport mode. So the valve was open. The valves don't close until it's above ~2500 RPM with a small throttle percentage.

That didn’t sound annoying. How much loader is it over stock?

Oh, it looked like the exhaust on startup only came out of 2 pipes so I figured the valve would be closed.
