I’m basically the same way. I just like not having to wear gloves in the car when it’s sat in very cold temps lol

I don't wear gloves even when scraping the ice/snow, shoveling, etc. Even at below 0. Lol

I hate that I love my Lexus’s heated steering wheel. All these things you first hear about and you grew up never having and think it’s dumb…but you get old and you try and it and like it.
Yeah. Heated steering wheels are nice.

Way back in 2004-ish, my brother rented a Cadillac DTS for some special event. He told me it had a heated steering wheel. Back then, I didn't even know that was a thing you could have.
ZF has a prototype heated seatbelt. It's more energy efficient to heat a passenger through direct contact, so it was supposed to be good for EVs. It hasn't made it to production yet. Apparently Mercedes did heated arm rests in the S-class for a bit back around 2007.

Didn’t GM have heated wiper fluid?

Was it them or Ford? I can't remember. All I know is it caused a few cars to catch fire.

I always thought heater cores should so you have fast heat. Maybe they do.

My truck has ASS now.
I replaced the battery yesterday and the auto start/stop started working. So far I don't mind it. We'll see if that continues.
I swapped from an H6 to an H7. When I went to re-code the battery management system to reflect the new capacity, I found out my ForScan license was expired. ForScan is in Russia, and their payment provider has stopped servicing them due to sanctions. So...yeah. No AsBuilt changes and no key programming for my fancy new BCM. I think I can get a free 2 month trial license to re-enable the AsBuilt functions, but that won't help with the key stuff.
Not the end of the world, but annoying nonetheless.
The truck is doing well in this snow. Had to switch between 2 and 4 a few times, but nothing too bad. I did get stuck going up a hilly side street near the house. I was extremely lucky I didn't have to back out onto the main road. There was an empty house for sale with a plowed horseshoe driveway. I ducked off onto that and got a running start to get the rest of the way to the top.

I saw that when I was getting my temporary license. I'm actually seriously thinking about getting a Mongoose Cable so I can get a weekend subscription to FRDS when I want/need. My parents said they're willing to go on on half with me. If we get an Explorer I'll definitely do it.

It surprised me too. But I guess it's a small thing to do that'll give people a good first impression when they show up to see the place.

Does that allow full access like ForScan would?

It allows you to basically be a dealership so it allows you to do everything a dealership could do. Here's more info on it...

which one would apply to my 2017 Focus??

It doesn't allow any security functions unless you have a Ford corporate logon or NASTF credentials. Probably not a big deal for you guys, but that's been my main pain point.
It also doesn't allow free access to AsBuilt parameters. It only lets you configure things that Ford wants you to configure.
Focus is still on IDS.

They've got some guy on Facebook that's got some kind of 'workaround', but I don't really want to be dodging sanctions against Russia.

I get that for sure. Knowing the US government they’d go after you too instead of the corporations doing it
