They make a tool for that
Was going to say this same thing. Though for as little as I do exhaust work, I don't really need it. I've found a big pair of channel locks works about the same. And PB Blaster, or some other sort of lubrication helps them slide in and out easier (

)

Ya I don't do exhaust work enough either but it's only like $12 on Amazon. Might get one before I do the c6 exhaust.

Finally wrapped this up yesterday.
I'm pretty proud I was able to get the tip to come out straight. It used to be a hard 90* turn to mount the muffler across the back of the truck. Because I didn't want to cut and re-do the hanger, I had to keep part of that initial bend. I did a couple of compound angles with a hacksaw and was able to get it all lined up.
Everything sealed up nicely and it sounds pretty good. It's got the nice bass LS burble at idle. I wish it was a little louder, but the overall sound and tone is perfect. The tires are still significantly louder.
Gonna go drop it off at the Chevy dealer for the state safety inspection in a little bit.

I felt like such a hobo bringing it into the Chevy dealer.

I was going to leave it outside and just drop the keys off, but they told me to bring it into the service lane. Ended up parking it next to a brand new Suburban.

I mean to be fair it's pretty easy to feel like a hobo pulling up to a dealership now. My truck is worth less than a mid range civic now.

Your truck isn't half rusty with faded trim and sporting an exhaust you just built out of scraps.

I am not sure if I will service the vette at the local chevy dealer or what. The Z51 comes with the extra goodies that I would like to use OEM replacement parts for if/when they have issues. But dealers are a lot more expensive.

That's only because I live in CA. Many of the trucks in the 09-14 F-150 groups I'm in are like you described.

Passed inspection.

They didn't charge me either. I knew that from when I took the white Corvette there. I just didn't think it'd apply to a 14 year old vehicle from a defunct brand. It's only $12, but it's still nice.
I have to go to the DMV on Wednesday night. Since the plate is already expired, I can't renew online. Oh well, that's what I get for letting it go for so long.

Truck is legal until 2025. I don't expect to have it that long, but it was only another $50 to get a 2 year tag, and it'll save me the trouble of doing all this again next year.

That makes sense. We will need to revisit this thread in 2 years to see if it was worth it

Service 4WD light came on while I was out running some errands. Got back, did some checks, and found a code for a fault in the rear diff lock circuit. Looks like I'm going back under there for some diagnosis.
I obviously don't need it to be working in daily use, but the error is annoying and I definitely want it to work when it comes time to sell it. I really hope the coil isn't bad. It's discontinued and was only ever used on the H3.

I ran across a discontinued part issue with the vette already. Had to buy an aftermarket filter to cut off the glued on braket to attach it to the factory acdelco Donaldson filter I'd rather use. Still no word on the tko filter I ordered and need to drive it this week.

The service 4wd on the avalanche basically means put it in and out more often. Fixed my in laws service 4x4.
