Tuning on race fuel and then making a pull on CA pump gas is suicide.

Yea build a tune for over 115 octane and then decide to play on 93. Not even the same ballpark fuel wise.

She blows shit up all the time. I don’t think she’s stupid, the drama gets clicks

No ability to control timing and adding boost on pump gas is bound to be bad for parts.
I'll take "Internet Car Diagnosis" for $1000, Alex. "What is cracked piston and bent rod?"

[quote=""DCIV""]Its not a rod. If its running back to the shop, its not a rod. I didnt watch the whole thing but it drove back. Dont care what they say.

Did you watch the video? They used a scope and saw chunks of piston missing.

I didn’t finish it but when it was still running it wasnt a rod. I said I didn’t finish it in my post. You can drive them with land rings broke. That’s not throwing a rod. That’s when a vehicle stops. The rod gets bent up and stops things rotating. Or it goes through the side of the block.

I mean I'm sure the first thing to go on it when it does let go will be pistons too. Cleetus ran a 5.3 with a big ass turbo for a while in his red vette. I mean he did eventually kill it, and rebuilt it with parts better suited for boost
I also forgot they had tuned with race gas too. Oh well she'll get her clicks and enough money to rebuild it and then some.

You don't have to break a rod for it to be a rod problem. A slightly bent rod will cause the piston skirt to hit the crank counterweights and give a tapping noise (or worse).

Yea, cars still run with bent rods.

...and a good way to bend a rod is to jam a piece of broken ringland against the deck of the head.

What, metal isnt compressible??.

Depends on how much pressure you can create

Cleetus got one. Itll be interesting to see what he does with it.

Engine removal and teardown.

So 3 bent rods, but no broken pistons. That screams detonation, which makes sense running pump gas on a car set up for race fuel. Surprised the pistons held up though - that's actually impressive. Saved them a whole lot of head work and possibly their turbos.

I’d bend a rod too if you know what I mean

Streetspeed new video. Do not like stretched tires, would maybe like the rims more with proper sized tires. I do really like the roof vinyl stuff he added at the end. I think it changes the look of the car drastically.
