I'm going to fire it up and see if I can't get security access to re-write the VIN without opening it. I've got a theory that the reason stuff like HP Tuners doesn't support VIN re-write is because they use that for licensing their software.

Just take a nice little dremel and cutting wheel to those welds. :)

I was in a similar boat with the Ram. Got super lucky and found this on Summits Discount rack. Was never used, but they pulled it off the shelf as it sat for over a year. Now i just need the tuning software. Glad someone cracked their system, but you need a separate ECU obviously.

I did some more mockup with the roof camera. It's going to sit less than an inch above the roof line, so that's nice. I really don't know how to mold a housing for this thing though. I really want it to be seamless, and not look like a radio shark fin. I might just wait until I can order the C8 trim cover and use that as a base to work from.

See if someone has a 3d printed one. If anything that would give you something start with fab wise.

Did you drill a hole into the roof of your car?

 I bought a spare halo cover. You pull out a dozen screws and it pops right off.

The plan from day 1 was for this crazy scheme to be 100% fully reversible.

The only car I'd really consider trading mine in on is a Collector's Edition Grand Sport. There are only 935 of them. Of those, only 53 are optioned the way I want (manual trans, competition seats). This is one of the 53.

Blue interior in a gray car? Mmmmmm, not my style for sure.

Really? I love it. My whole reason for wanting that car is aesthetics. That's also the number one reason I'm not jumping on this particular car. That's a lot of money to spend for something that mainly just looks different from mine. The mechanical differences aren't significant.

With that said, the local Carmax has a Z06 on the lot. I don't really want a Z06, let alone a black on black one, but I'm still curious how different the driving experience is.

Yeah, after seeing it I am definitely not a fan of the blue interior. Reminds me too much of 80's car interiors.
