I need to build a storage/sleeping platform soon. I think first I’ll do that, get a fridge, secondary battery setup, and then lift and tires. Or maybe lift and tires first just in case we get snow. Either way I want to be camping ready for when it gets warm again.

That one looks really nice with the suspension and tires.

Icon is fucking money though. I’m trying to figure out what I want. Looking like at least $1000 for suspension, another $600 for UCA’s. Too many options to choose from. May or may not need ucas, really depends. Dobinsons, toytec, ironman 4x4, it’s almost overwhelming. Also it’s going to suck because I either get springs for my eventual load and have shitty ride until I get bumpers and stuff, or rebuy springs later.

I feel that. Put stiff springs on the xj. Wasn't until I put the bumper and winch did it feel ok.

Yeah, it rides so nice stock I don't want to fuck it up. I suppose I can always repurpose the rear airbag system to keep it at the proper height and supplement the coil springs.

How much do you actually "wheel" vs dive on the street? Most stock 4x4 suspensions are more than enough for most people. Just get the wheels and treads you like and have fun.

I'd worry about armor before lift if funds are in question honestly.

Well i want the lift to fit the tires without modding the body mount and stuff. I plan on taking a couple week long overlanding trips once things thaw out, so trying to get ready for that.

As long as you realize there are sacrifices along the way, go for it.

Everyone has their own way of modding. I always like to focus on recovery, armor, lift, lockers /gears in that order. But if you are doing a bunch before you actually go it doesn't really matter what way you do it.

Might just get upgraded springs in the front, leave the normal springs in the rear, then pay $180 for new springs once i get loaded down, that would be the best of both worlds

Working on a flip down table for the rear hatch. Added a release to open it from the inside, and added my backup camera. Next is a sleeping/storage platform

Did you drill a bottle opener to the back of your Lexus?

Shouldn't it be a wine opener? That's much more Bougie

Finally decided on tires. Had to get some before we get snow. Falken at3w 265/70/17 on TRD reps. bigger than stock yet doesnt require gearing and the spare fits in the stock location. Gotta give ole girl some love since i havent done a thing to her in the two years ive owned her.
