Let's get this back on topic. I still think the diesel setup is what you need. It's effectively one big ass battery.

This is the factory setup for the gas engines for things like emergency response vehicles. It's got that relay on the right that switches to the 2nd battery when the system voltage drops below a certain point.

This is the same diagram, but with the relay and some redundant fusible links eliminated. I think this is how the diesels are set up. You basically just need to disconnect the existing single battery from that 40 amp megafuse, and tie in the 2nd battery that will sit on the passenger side of the engine bay. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work? The only thing I can think of is needing to make sure the alternator is up to the task of charging two batteries at once, in addition to providing enough current to run everything else in the truck.
Can you walk up this proposed driveway or would it be classified as a hike, maybe mild bouldering event? Should i bring my climbing harness?

Just trying to coordinate my outfits for my visit.
We call it buzz kill hill as it will kill any buzz you have. I walked up half of it at least 3 times a day for a year while building and it never got easier. When I push a stroller up to the top to go for a walk with the fam (my house to the top so half way) my HR goes to over 155 in just 40yards.

155? And you're in shape. I'd probably die.

Wonder why they dropped the mega fuse.

That’s pushing a stroller. Even without one you get breathing hard it sucks. All around but it’s okay. That’s why I need lockers and gears and 3 alternators and a bed full of batteries. Lol.

Or maybe just a working f’ing truck.

NM. I think that 40 amp megafuse is specific to the 2nd battery. The main megafuse is something like 130+ amps.

Buzz Kill Hill... somehow reminds me of Hamburger Hill movie. Hopefully no lives have been lost.

Revisiting this. Have a bday coming up, already have the tray installed for the second battery. I would like a second battery that can start the car if need be, possibly get trickle charged by the alternator, but other than that it just sits there.

Is there any device that does this without being stupid expensive?

Liked the switch inside of the other one, like the price of this one.

Was just going to post that. Every dual battery set up I've read mentions it.
